Date of release: October 17, 2014
Effective May 1, 2015, new Cabin Sequence Use Conditions will apply to tickets for flights scheduled to depart on or after March 27, 2016.
Rules on Domestic Ticket Change and Refund Fee Calculation (Updated)

1.These terms of use apply to Air China-operated domestic flights and CA-coded, other carriers-operated domestic flights ticketed on Air China’s domestic ticket stock (including BSP ticket confirmed by “999”), and also apply to Air China’s domestic flights ticketed on the ticket stock of other carriers which have signed sub-class sales agreement with Air China.

2.These rules apply to situations where a FIT (free and independent) passenger requests a voluntary ticket change and voluntary ticket refund.

3.Once the ticket is changed and the passenger requests a ticket change again or requests a refund on the changed (new) ticket, the rules of the new ticket apply; if the passenger requests a refund on the changed (new) ticket, the ticket change fee (including rebooking fee and fare difference) is not refundable.

4.A ticket change that involves the same physical class of service: In the case of sub-class change, it is not allowed to change from a higher class of service to a lower class of service; otherwise, the request shall be handled as a voluntary refund. If the passenger requests a change from a lower class to a higher class, the fare must be calculated again, change fee and fare difference must be collected, and the new fare shall not be lower than the original fare. In the case of a ticket change that involves the same sub-class, the fare will be calculated again, and the change fee and fare difference must be collected. If the new fare is lower than the original fare, the fare difference will not be refunded; only a change fee is collected. (Change from W class to Y class is not subject to these rules.)

5.All flight sectors of the ticket shall be used in sequence; otherwise, the ticket will be invalidated.

6. A regular fare ticket is valid for one year from the date of commencement of travel, but travel must commence within one year of ticket issuance. If no portion of the ticket is used, the ticket is valid for one year from the day of ticket issuance. If the validity period of the regular fare ticket expires, it is no longer good for transportation, and a refund is not allowed.

7.Instructions for using tickets for children and infants:
1) Children’s tickets:
Customers who purchase children’s tickets at a 50% discount off the published fare for Cabins F/C/W/Y, can make changes free of charge at any time while the ticket remains valid. Refunds are subject to the same refund fees that apply to adult tickets in the same class.
Children’s tickets purchased at a discount of more than 50% off of the published sub-cabin fare are subject to the rules for rescheduling, refunds, and changes that apply to adult tickets in the same cabin.
2) Infant tickets:
Customers who purchase an infant ticket can apply for ticket changes and refunds free of change at any time while the ticket remains valid.

Ticket change:

The original ticket is for one-way travel in L Class from Beijing to Chengdu on October 18. The fare collected is RMB 890, tax amount is RMB 170, for a total fare of RMB 1060.
Example: Before flight departure, a passenger requests a change (rebooking) to CA4112, H Class on October 19. The fare of H Class is RMB 1150.
The rebooking fee and fare difference are calculated separately in order to arrive at the ticket change fee.
Rebooking fee = Fare of the original L Class ticket actually collected × Rebooking fee forL Class before flight departure=890 × 10% = RMB 89.
Fare difference = H Class fare - Fare of the original L Class ticket actually collected = 1150 - 890 = RMB 260.
Ticket change fee = Rebooking fee + fare difference = 89 + 260 = RMB 349

Refund:

The original ticket is for one-way travel in L Class from Beijing to Chengdu on October 18. The fare collected is RMB 890, tax amount is RMB 170, for a total fare of RMB 1060.
Example: After flight departure, a passenger requests a refund.
Refund fee = Fare of the original L Class ticket actually collected × Refund fee for L Class after flight departure = 890 * 30% = RMB 267.
Refund amount = Fare actually collected + Taxes/fees – Refund fee = 890 + 170 - 267 = RMB 793.
