Bandaranaike International Airport, named after former Prime Minister SWRD Bandaranaike, is located in a suburb of Negombo, 35 kilometers north of Colombo. It is the hub for Sri Lankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, and Mihin Lanka, the budget airline of Sri Lanka. It’s one of the busiest hub airports in South Asia.

1. Buses
Colombo has an extensive public transport system with buses operated by both private operators and the government-owned Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB). There are three primary bus terminals: Bastian Mawatha for long-distance rides and Central and Gunasinghapura for city rides.
