Brief Introduction:
Dunhuang, meaning “grand”, is located on the Silk Road, a vital transportation route leading to the Western Regions, Central Asia and Europe from ancient China. Traditionally in ancient times, the three routes through Xinjiang Province on the Silk Road all started in Dunhuang and extended westwards from there.
