2. Basic Information
Pyongyang International Airport, also called Pyongyang Capital Airport, is North Korea’s first international airport and the largest civil aviation airport in North Korea. The Airport has one runway and the existing terminal building is a temporary structure. Construction of the new terminal building started in June 2012 and is expected to be completed by the end of April 2014.

Subway
Built in 1973, the subway route includes 16 stations. All columns, corridors, steps and even the train platforms are made of marble. Subway stations are built in the Russian style, characterized by bronze statues, murals, mosaics and numerous golden chandeliers suspended from ceiling domes. Pyongyang boasts the deepest subway tunnels in the world.
