Basic InformationKunming Changshui International Airport, located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, the People's Republic of China, is one of the world’s top 100 airports, and the fourth largest hub airport, serving as the gateway between China and Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Europe, along with Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou International Airports. Kunming Changshui International Airport is the only national hub airport in the western region of China. 4. Check-in Counters
Air China check-in counters are located on the third floor of Terminal 1. The check-in counters for international flights are at Island H/J at the rightmost area of the terminal. The check-in counters for domestic flights include counters 01–20 of Island D and counters 01–02 of Island F at the leftmost area of the terminal. Among these counters, F01–F02 are first class counters, D08–D10 are emergency counters, D19 is the counter for military personnel, firefighters and wheelchair passengers, and D20 is the duty manager and standby counter.

Rail TransitThe Kunming Rail Transit line 6 is the designated Airport Line, with a total length of 26.6 km. Phase I of the line originates at the Eastern Bus Terminal. It takes about 20 minutes to travel from Kunming Eastern Bus Terminal to Kunming Changshui International Airport by subway.
Airport Shuttle
Kunming Changshui International Airport offers three Airport Express Lines connecting the Airport to the City Center: Airport Line One serves the main urban area, the west urban area and northwest urban area; Airport Line Two serves the south urban area; and Airport Line Three serves the north urban area. During the trial period, the ticket fare is RMB 25 and buses depart every 30 minutes (every 15 minutes during peak hours). The buses operate from 05:00 to 22:00 for lines connecting to the airport; and from 09:00 to24:00 for lines connecting to downtown.
Taxi
The flag-down fare is RMB 8 for the first 3 kilometers, and RMB 1.8 for each additional 1,000 meters. After 22:00pm, the flag-down fare is RMB 10 for the first 3 kilometers, and RMB 2.4 for each additional 1,000 meters. It costs about RMB 20 for a taxi from the airport to downtown and the trip takes approximately 20 minutes.
