Lhasa tourist attractions
Brief Introduction：
Lhasa was announced by the State Council to be one of the top 24 national, historical and cultural cities. It is the political, economic, cultural, transportation and tourism center of the Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located on the north bank of the Lhasa River. "Lhasa" in Tibetan means "sacred place" or "Buddha’s place". It was named when Princess Wen Cheng bought a life-sized statue of Buddha at the age of 12, and placed it in the Jokhang Temple for people to worship. Lhasa city, covering a total area of nearly 30,000 square kilometers, is the city with the highest altitude in the world.
