How to Book

● Connecting time
*For overnight transits (the arrival time of the previous flight and the departure time of the subsequent flight are not on the same day), where the connecting flights are both domestic flights, the transit time must be ≥ 6 hours and ≤ 24 hours; where a domestic flight is connecting with an international flight, an international flight is connecting with a domestic flight, or an international flight is connecting with another international flight, the transit time must be ≥ 6 hours and ≤ 30 hours.
*For same-day transits (the arrival time of the previous flight and the departure time of the subsequent flight after the transit are on the same day), the scheduled arrival time of the previous flight is at or before 8:00 am and the transit time ≥ 6 hours.
● Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket with number starting with “999”.
● Transit accommodation is not available to staff tickets or passengers with fare class X or N tickets or award tickets redeemed with mileage.
● Both inbound and outbound flights must bear the airline code CA.
● Both inbound and outbound segments may be operated by Air China, Shandong Airlines or Shenzhen Airlines, providing they meet the requirements of carriers corresponding to each transfer type.
● Passenger restrictions
*The Transit Hotel service is inapplicable to unaccompanied minors.
*The service may not be booked for infants, but infants may stay with an accompanying adult in hotels.
● Travel dates
*The scheduled arrival time of the flight into the transit city is between January 1 and December 31, 2021.

*Please complete booking before the departure of the flight scheduled to Beijing.
● Accommodation options
*First/ Business Class (cabin code F/A/J/C/D/Z/E) passengers on international (regional) segment(s) carried by Air China may book a luxury transit hotel by calling the Air China Sales and Service Hotline at 95583.
*All other passengers who meet the terms and conditions for Transit Hotel may book a standard transit hotel.

● The Transit Hotel service is a complimentary service provided for customer convenience only. Air China is not obliged to offer this service for connecting flights, nor is this service bundled with paid flights. Passengers are not charged a fee for this service, nor the cost of this service included in the ticket price or taxes paid by customers. Air China does not assume any liability for issues that relate to the service providers.
● This service is provided subject to room availability at partner hotels. Air China cannot guarantee that accommodation will be available for all qualifying passengers. Therefore, passengers are advised to make bookings as soon as possible after confirming their itinerary.
● Passengers must book a transit hotel in person or through a self-service channel prior to boarding their inbound flight. On-arrival bookings are not accepted.
● In the event of a flight segment change, passengers must re-book accommodation in advance; otherwise, their bookings will be invalidated.
● Hotel check-in and check-out times are determined by the hotel.
● Passengers who have booked a transit hotel in Beijing may visit the Air China transfer service counter upon arrival to request a pickup.

Service Tips

● The international transit lounge service in Beijing is conceived by Air China only to make passengers’ connections easier and to be a location for rest for passengers. Passengers are not charged a fee for this service, nor is the cost of this service included in the ticket price or taxes paid by customers.Air China will not be held responsible for any problems that could occur during the service delivery by service providers.
● The space of transit lounges is limited. Advanced reservation is required.
● Passengers must book a transit lounge prior to the departure of the flight scheduled to Beijing. Otherwise, access to lounges is not allowed.
● In the event of a flight segment change, passengers must re-book a lounge via Air China official website or Air China APP; otherwise, their bookings will be invalidated.
● Before accessing lounges, passengers are required to provide the ID documents used for ticket purchase and boarding pass for identity validation.
● The number of guestrooms, shower rooms and sleeping rooms in a lounge is limited, which makes it impossible to guarantee that a passenger's need is always been met.The passenger who needs one should make the request at the time of lounge visit.

Transit Arrival Guidance

Overview

If you hold a First Class/ Business Class ticket of Air China for connecting flights to Europe, Americas, Oceania and/or Africa routes, and have booked a luxury transit hotel, you will be entitled to free arrival guidance service provided by Air China.A considerate service in English and Chinese that makes traveling a breeze!

Service Procedure

● The passenger arrives into Beijing on an Air China flight.
● The guide meets the passenger at appropriate places.
If the flight arrives at a nearby apron, the guide will meet the passenger on the bridge whilst holding up a Chinese/English nameplate.
If the flight arrives at a far-off apron, the guide will meet the passenger at the shuttle drop-off point whilst holding up a Chinese/English nameplate.
● The guide will accompany the passenger through baggage claim, quarantine, immigration and customs inspection.
● The guide will take the passenger to the hotel coach stop.

● Passengers who have already booked special services cannot book the Transit Arrival Guidance service.
● For connecting flights, the scheduled arrival time in Beijing must be before 24:00 on December 31, 2020.
● Availability is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
● During the guidance, if a passenger has to handle personal matters for more than 20 minutes, the service will automatically terminate.
● In the event of a flight change or cancellation, passengers should call the Air China Sales and Service Hotlines at 95583 to check the status of the service booking.
Transit Baggage Check-through

Overview

Passengers traveling on a flight operated by Air China from Americas/ Europe/ Oceania via Beijing to other cities in China may request the direct transportation of baggage to the final destination.To request this service, passengers must state so at the baggage column while going through check-in procedures, to authorize Air China staff to open the baggage for inspection in Beijing at the request of the customs.

Reminder:

● Check-through baggage is subject to inspection by the customs.With the authorization statement signed by passengers, Air China staff will open the baggage for inspection on behalf of the passengers at the request of the Customs Control.Upon arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, passengers do not need to claim their baggage; instead they may go through entry formalities directly, and then wait for the outbound domestic flights in the transfer hall.
● This service is not applicable to Air China codeshare flights operated by other international airlines.

144-Hour Transit Without Visa

Overview

At Beijing Capital International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Hebei Shijiazhuang International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Nanjing Lukou International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, foreign passengers from Austria and 52 other countries who hold valid international travel documents and tickets scheduled to depart for third countries (regions) within 144 hours (including air tickets, train tickets, and ferry tickets) with confirmed dates and seats will be allowed to transit without visa.Besides the above seven airports, the policy for 144-hour transit without visa is also applicable to Beijing West Railway Station, Tianjin Dongjiang Port, Hebei Qinhuangdao Port, International Passenger Transport Center Of Shanghai Port, Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, Shanghai Railway Station, etc. For details, please contact your local immigration authorities.

Service Conditions

● The passenger must hold valid international travel documents and a ticket scheduled to depart for a third country (region) within 144 hours with a confirmed date and seat.
● The passenger must be a citizen of one of the 53 countries within the scope where the policy for 144-hour transit without visa is applicable.
● Passengers may arrive in China or depart from China to a third country (region) via the following 13 customs ports: Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing West Railway Station, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Tianjin Dongjiang Port, Hebei Shijiazhuang International Airport, Hebei Qinhuangdao Port, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, International Passenger Transport Center Of Shanghai Port, Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, Shanghai Railway Station, Nanjing Lukou International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.The visa-free policy is inapplicable to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Port and the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai Port.
● Passengers are not allowed to stay in the administrative areas of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Hebei for more than 144 hours.The length of stay is calculated from 0:00 am on the next day of entry.Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei visa-free passengers may not leave the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei administrative region; the same rule applies to Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai visa-free passengers.
● This policy is not applicable to the foreign crew members of international ships and their accompanying family members.
