    Extra Baggage

    Need more than your free baggage allowance to check in? Try extra baggage service. You can pay for your extra baggage in advance, saving both time and money and enjoy peace of mind before you fly.

  • Restrictions

    1. The ticket number you purchased must start with “999”. The flight must be marked with CA code and operated by Air China.

    2. Your flight is an international/regional direct flight OR transfer flight (one transfer only), And some domestic direct flight.

    5.IF Your baggage allowance is measured by weight. You can choose to purchase any of the following quotas: 5KG, 10KG, 15KG and 20KG. Each passenger can only buy once per flight and at maximum of 20 KGs.

    The extra baggage service applies only to general checked baggage, not to special checked baggage or carry-on baggage. The charge does not replace the extra charges for "overweight and oversized" baggage.     The total dimensions (length + width + height, including wheels and handles) of each piece of checked baggage may not exceed 158cm/62in and may not be less than 60cm/24in.     The weight of each piece of checked baggage must be no less than 2kg/4lbs. The weight of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 32kg/70lbs for First class and Business class passengers, and for Premium Economy Class, Super Economy Class and Economy Class passengers the weight of each piece of checked baggage must be no more than 23kg/50lbs. The weight of each piece of checked baggage must be no less than 2kg/4lbs and no more than 32kg/70lbs.
    If the baggage you carry does not meet the above requirements, you will be required to pay the fee at airport according to Excess Baggage Charges for Air China-Operated Flights, and the oversized and overweight charges will be Superposition calculated.Baggage that exceeds 32kg/70lbs weight limits cannot be carried as checked baggage. We recommend that you either unpack and separate your baggage or have it transported as cargo. Baggage that exceeds 32kg/70lbs weight limits cannot be carried as checked baggage.   • Helpful tips

    1.After completing your payment, please pay attention whether the system has successfully issued your extra baggage ticket number, which is the only reference of successful purchase, and you will also receive an SMS notification from Air China.

    2.If there are any changes to your ticket number due to rescheduling or upgrades and you still require extra baggage, please rebook this service.

    3.extra baggage can be used only when checking baggage at the check-in counter, and cannot be accepted at the boarding gate. When you check in at the counter, please remind the staff member that you have booked extra baggage service, to avoid double charges.

    4.If you need to cancel your extra baggage, please apply for a refund through the original purchase channel before check-in. There is no penalty for refund of extra baggage service.But the extra baggage service cannot be refund based on part of the weight or part of the itinerary. Please buy on demand.

    5.If you have purchased extra baggage through Air China website and do not need it when checking baggage, please call 95583-1-5 after your flight to request a refund. Refunds are valid for up to 12 months after purchase.

    You are always unable to obtain your preferred seat at check-in?

    Don’t worry. We block in advance a certain zone of great seats. So, you can select your preferred seat in advance.

  • Restrictions

    1. Eligible tickets: International tickets with ticket numbers preceded by "999".
    2. Eligible flights: Air China-operated and coded direct international flights. Codeshare flights do not qualify.
    3. Eligible booking classes: Economy Class;
    4. Booking period: From the time of ticket purchase until check-in; The deadline for advance seat selection may be earlier on some flights. Please read the fare conditions at the time of ticket purchase or check with Air China staff.
    5. Eligible passengers: Adult and child passengers;
    6. In line with CAAC regulations, passengers who select emergency exit seats must be aged 15 years of age and over, and 64 years of age and under, meet the relevant conditions, and be willing and able to fulfill the relevant obligations. Please consult the sales channels for detailed requirements. For safety reasons, the backrests of some emergency exit seats may not be adjustable. Please be aware of this when booking.
    7. Not available to book after check-in.
    8. If you are an Air China PhoenixMiles Platinum Card member, you will have the right to choose an economy class seat for free. Please select your seat as soon as possible after purchasing the ticket, the product stock is limited and it is first come first served.
    9. To receive a receipt for the advance seat booking, call 95583-1-5 within 45 days of using the product.
    10. Prices and applicable routes for all Preferred Seat are as shown at the time of booking.
    11. You may request a Preferred Seatpaid seat from staff when checking in at the airport.

  • Routes that provide the service

    Air China-operated non-stop and direct international flights. Prices and route eligibility criteria shown at the time of purchase will apply for all Preferred Seat.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable on international flights that include a domestic segment.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable through self-service channels for flights originating inDaegu, Pyongyang, Yangon and Ulaanbaatar. Advance seat selection is also unavailable on some open-jaw itineraries (e.g. Beijing - Minsk - Budapest - Beijing; Beijing - Islamabad - Karachi - Beijing). If you are unable to select a seat in advance, you can still request a paid seat during airport check-in.

  • Reminders

    1. You can only select a seat on the plane in advance. You must still go through check-in before the flight departs.
    2. Your Preferred Seat may change due to changes to the flight or aircraft type, or actions taken by the airline for safety or operational reasons. We will do our utmost to arrange another seat of equal value for you. If you are moved to a seat of lesser value, you may contact the sales channel through which you purchased the ticket to apply for a refund, or apply for an electronic service voucher of the same value as the purchased seat (including passengers who booked seats using mileage points or vouchers). For guidance on the use of electronic service vouchers, please refer to this link.
    3..Preferred Seat selection currently only supports single seat bookings. When seat adjustments are necessary, seats will also be reserved on a single-seat basis.
    4. Preferred Seat selection product offers you the opportunity to reserve a seat on the flight in advance, allowing you to book a seat with extra leg room or a regular seat as needed. However, due to airline safety reasons and special service guarantees, not all seats in Economy Class are available for Preferred Seat. During check-in, some paid seats may be opened up to self-check-in passengers. Please consider whether you need to book a Preferred Seat.
    5. If you successfully book an emergency exit row seat, you will not be able to check-in through self-service channels, and you must instead go to a check-in counter to check in.
    6. If you have any questions when booking or using your Preferred Seat, please make a note of the relevant information (such as screenshots of system errors, boarding passes or photographs), and call 95583 for assistance. Air China will help you to identify the specific issue and provide a solution as quickly as possible.
    7. If you are an Air China PhoenixMiles Platinum Card member, you will have the right to choose an economy class seat for free. Please select your seat as soon as possible after purchasing the ticket, the product stock is limited and it is first come first served.

    Regulations for refunds, rescheduling, and endorsements
    1. Endorsement and rescheduling or change of seat products is not currently supported. If you need to reschedule your ticket or change your seat, we recommend that you first cancel your seat selection, change the date of your ticket, then re-book your seat on the plane.
    2. Cancellation request:
    ●  Passengers will not be charged a processing fee for cancellations.
    ●  Cancellation requests must be made to the sales channel you originally used to purchase your seat selection.
    ●  Cancellation of reservations for international and Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China flights can be made up to 48 hours before departure. Passengers may either handle the cancellation themselves via the original purchasing channel, or contact 95583 to process the cancellation. Cancellation of reservations within 48 hours before departure for international and Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China flights cannot be made. If the passenger has or will apply for a refund for the selected segment, they can contact 95583 to cancel the booking after the original flight has ended.
    ●  Cancellations for domestic flights within China (excluding Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China) can be made up to 6 hours before departure . Passengers may either handle the cancellation themselves via the original purchasing channel, or contact 95583 to process the cancellation. Cancellations for domestic flights within China (excluding Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China) within 6 hours before departure is not possible. If the passenger has or will apply for a refund for the selected segment, they can contact 95583 to cancel the booking after the original flight has ended.
    ●  If the passenger does not meet the conditions to be seated in an emergency exit seat, then no cancellation can be made.
    ●  In cases where passengers pay for an upgrade or redeem mileage awards for an upgrade, the product can be canceled.In cases where passengers are unable to use the reserved seat, but Air China assigns them another seat of the same value, or a seat of higher value or in a higher class, no refund will be issued.
    ●  For passengers paying with mileage who wish to cancel the order, the miles will be returned according to their original period of validity, while miles that have already expired will be automatically invalidated. Please be aware of this and consider how it applies to you when booking this product. In the event of changes to the product owing to reasons of the airline, miles which have expired will be extended by one month.
    ●  For passengers who are dissatisfied with the comfort level due to reasons such as the inability to use the seat service bell, air conditioning port malfunction, lighting malfunction, entertainment equipment malfunction, inability to adjust the seat back, and damage to the seat, the selected seat product can be returned after verifying the passenger's description.
    ●  If the refund conditions for Economy class seat cancellation are met, the deadline for refunds is 12 months from the date of purchase.
    ●  For cancellations made within 90 days (not inclusive) of the departure of a flight, the payment made by the passenger (including cash, mileage or vouchers) will be returned to the original payment method. For cancellations made more than 90 days (inclusive) after departure, the payment will be returned to your account in the form of a voucher.

  • Service name and description

    ●    Passengers who meet the criteria for transit accommodations can enjoy one free night transit accommodation service. The service includes one night at a hotel in the transit city, breakfast and transportation between the airport and the hotel (if available).Due to the limited daily availability of rooms at partner hotels, it is not possible to ensure that all eligible customers can enjoy transit accommodation. Passengers are requested to make their reservation as soon as possible after confirming their itinerary.

    ●    The transit accommodation service is available in Beijing (Capital), Chengdu (Tianfu), Shanghai (Pudong), Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing and Wenzhou.

    ●    Passengers must transfer at one of the above locations and meet the Air China transit accommodation terms and conditions to be eligible for this service.

    ●    In Chengdu (Tianfu), free transportation is only available between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and the transit hotel. Passengers transferring at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport must make their own travel arrangements.

    ●    In Shanghai (Pudong), free transportation is only available between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the transit hotel (if available). Passengers transferring at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport need to make their own travel arrangements.

    ●    Due to factors such as hotel cooperation, the hotels for which the service is available may be adjusted at any time. For details, please refer to the actual services provided by the system during booking.

  • Terms and conditions



    ●    Transit time requirements
        ♦For overnight transit (the transit point: arrival time of the previous flight and the departure time of the subsequent flight are not on the same day), where the connecting flights are both domestic flights, the transit time must be ≥ 6 hours and ≦ 24 hours; where a domestic flight is connecting with an international flight, an international flight is connecting with a domestic flight, or an international flight is connecting with another international flight, the transit time must be ≥ 6 hours and ≤ 30 hours.
        ♦For same-day transit (the transit point: arrival time of the previous flight and the departure time of the subsequent flight are on the same day), the scheduled arrival time of the previous flight is before 8:00 am (including) and the transit time ≥ 6 hours.
    ●    Booking deadline
        ♦Standard transit accommodation services
        (1) Overnight layover passengers (flights where the arrival time of the inbound flight segment and the departure time of the outbound flight segment is on different days) must book before midnight on the day before the scheduled arrival date of the inbound flight. If a passenger plans to enter the airport on February 1 (arriving at the transit city) and leave the airport on February 2 (departing the transit city), overnight layover passengers must book before midnight on January 31.
        (2) Same-day transit passengers (flights where the arrival time of the inbound flight segment and the departure time of the outbound flight segment is on the same day) must book before midnight two days before the scheduled arrival date of the inbound flight. If a passenger plans to enter the airport on February 1 (arriving at the transit city) and leave the airport on February 1 (departing the transit city), the passenger must book before midnight on January 30.
        ♦Luxury transit accommodation services
        (1) Overnight layover passengers (flights where the arrival time of the inbound flight segment and the departure time of the outbound flight segment is on different days) must book before 22:00 two days before the scheduled arrival date of the inbound flight. If a passenger plans to enter the airport on February 1 (arriving at the transit city) and leave the airport on February 2 (departing the transit city), overnight layover passengers must book before 22:00 on January 30.
        (2) Same-day transit passengers (flights where the arrival time of the inbound flight segment and the departure time of the outbound flight segment is on the same day) must book before 22:00 three days before the scheduled arrival date of the inbound flight. If a passenger plans to enter the airport on February 1 (arriving at the transit city) and leave the airport on February 1 (departing the transit city), the passenger must book before 22:00 on January 29.
    ●    Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket whose ticket number begins with “999.”Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket with two or more segments booked under the same reference number and ticket number. Alternatively, passengers may hold multiple tickets with consecutive ticket numbers if they booked too many segments.
    ●    Both inbound and outbound segments must bear the CA airline code.
    ●    Both inbound and outbound flights may be operated by Air China, Shandong Airlines or Shenzhen Airlines, providing they meet the following requirements.

    ●    The transit accommodation service is available for connecting flight tickets in which the preceding flight arrives in the same city and the same airport as the subsequent flight. Only the Chengdu (Tianfu) and Shanghai (Pudong) transit accommodation products can be also used for connecting flight tickets in which the preceding flight arrives in the same city at a different airport as the subsequent flight. For example, a ticket itinerary with connecting flight of Harbin–Beijing Capital (PEK)//Beijing Daxing (PKX)–Guangzhou is not eligible for this product. But a ticket itinerary with connecting flight of Guangzhou–Chengdu Shuangliu//Chengdu Tianfu–Haerbin, or Guangzhou–Shanghai Pudong//Shanghai Hongqiao–Haerbin is eligible for this product.
    ●    This product cannot be booked if the place of departure of the preceding flight is the same airport, or a different airport in the same city, as the destination of the subsequent flight. Examples are Shenyang–Chengdu Tianfu–Shenyang, and Beijing Capital (PEK)–Hangzhou–Beijing Daxing (PKX).
    ●    Transit accommodation service in Beijing is available only to transit passengers who travel on pre-booked eligible flights into and out of Beijing Capital International Airport.
    ●    Passenger requirements
          ♦  O/I/X/N class tickets, T class tickets for any segment of connecting flight tickets transferring from domestic to domestic, award tickets, free tickets, infant tickets, children's tickets (with a separate child record number), unaccompanied children's tickets, and tickets with cabin upgrade products booked or to be booked (such as boarding gate upgrade, cabin upgrade voucher, on-site upgrade, reward upgrade, etc.) cannot be reserved for transit accommodation services.
          ♦  In addition to the ticket types listed above, children's tickets are not eligible to book luxury transit accommodation services.
          ♦  The transit accommodation service may not be booked for infants, but infants can stay with an accompanying adult.
          ♦  For minors under 18 years of age who are checking into the hotel alone, please confirm in advance the check-in policy for minors with the hotel you have booked. The specific policy is subject to the requirements of each hotel. Air China shall not be held liable if you do not meet the relevant check-in policy for minors and are refused entry by the hotel.
    ●    Travel dates
    The scheduled arrival time of the flight into the transit city: January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. (Beijing time)

  • Booking methods

    ●    Manual booking
    When purchasing tickets, please ask the ticket sales staff to assist in booking the transit accommodation service or contact the Air China sales service hotline on 95583.
    ●    Self-service booking
    After purchasing tickets, visit Air China's official website or the Air China app to make a reservation.
    ●    Hotel types
          ♦  First and Business Class adult passengers (fare codes F/A/J/C/D/Z/R) with international (regional) flight segments operated by Air China who are transiting in Beijing Capital International Airport, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, or Shanghai Pudong International Airport, may contact the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 to book a luxury (G1) transit hotel.
          ♦  Other passengers who meet the transit accommodation conditions can book an ordinary transit hotel. Where hotel occupancy permits, criteria for ordinary transit hotels suitable for passengers are as follows:
          A. First and business class passengers on the preceding or succeeding flight can book transit hotels in the G2/G3 group. They have priority in hotel and single room selection.
          B. Lifetime Platinum cardholders, Platinum cardholders, and Gold cardholders on an international (regional) preceding or succeeding flight and whose cabin is super economy/economy can book G2/G3 hotels and have priority in hotel and single room selection.
          C. Other passengers on an international (regional) preceding or succeeding flight and whose cabin is super economy/economy can book G2/G3 hotels.
          D. Other passengers for whom both of the connecting flight segments are domestic and both segments are premium economy class/economy class may book a G3 Air China partner hotel. Among these passengers, those with a PhoenixMiles Lifetime Platinum Card, Platinum Card or Gold Card will have priority in selecting a hotel. Priority is also given to single rooms.

  • Helpful tips

    ●    The transit accommodation service is a complimentary service provided for customer convenience only. Air China is not obliged to offer this service for connecting flights, nor is this service bundled with paid flights. Passengers are not charged a fee for using this service, nor the cost of this service included in the ticket price or taxes paid by customers. Air China does not assume any liability for issues that relate to the service provider.
    ●    Due to the limited daily availability of rooms at partner hotels, it is not possible to ensure that all eligible customers can enjoy transit accommodation. Passengers are requested to make their reservation as soon as possible after confirming their itinerary. Passengers who meet the conditions for hotel selection and single rooms may choose a service of the corresponding standard, subject to hotel room availability. Passengers who do not meet the conditions may not specify their preferred hotel or choose a single room and will automatically be assigned a hotel by the system. If passengers who do not meet the conditions for hotel selection wish to change their hotel reservation, they may try booking again. However, Air China does not guarantee that the system can definitely change the hotel. If the hotel cannot be changed after attempting to re-book, the passenger may choose whether or not to continue using the service at their own discretion. Changes to hotel or room type should be made before the booking deadline.
    ●    Passengers need to book transit accommodation services through manual or self-service channels before the booking deadline. Passengers may only check in once a successful reservation has been made. Booking at the hotel is not permitted.
    ●    International arrival passengers are requested to confirm in advance that they meet the entry qualifications and to ensure that they have a valid entry and stay permit. Air China shall not be held liable for any failure to use the service due to the passenger not meeting entry qualifications.
    ●    If passengers require an extra bed, they are required to cover any additional charges.
    ●    For passengers who have booked transit accommodation services: if your connecting flight changes (such as date, time, fare class, itinerary, flight number, etc.), your booking may be canceled. Please confirm the validity of your booking. If, after your booking has been canceled and your flight has been rescheduled, you still meet the conditions for booking the product, please re-book the product before the booking deadline; you may only use the hotel once you have successfully made a reservation. If, after your booking has been canceled and your flight has been rescheduled, you no longer meet the conditions for booking the product, you will not be able to book and continue to use the product.
    ●    After arriving at the hotel, passengers must present the identification documents used to purchase their tickets, as well as any relevant boarding passes to verify their identity.
    ●    Hotel check-in and check-out times are determined by the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have booked standard transit accommodation for Beijing (Capital) should go to the Air China Transfer Service Counter upon arrival. The Transfer Service Counter will then contact the transit hotel to arrange transportation from the airport. If the Transfer Service Counter is closed, passengers may contact the transit hotel directly to arrange transportation using the contact details received upon successful completion of their booking, or contact the Air China Sales Service Hotline on 95583 as indicated on the reminder displayed at the Transfer Service Counter, so that Air China can arrange transportation to the hotel. Passengers arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal 2 do not need to go to the Air China Transfer Service Counter upon arrival. Passengers who have already booked the Air China transit accommodation service may contact the transit hotel directly to arrange transportation using the contact details received upon successful completion of their booking, or call the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 so that Air China can arrange transportation to the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have booked standard transit accommodation service in Shanghai (Pudong), please call the hotel one day before check-in date to confirm the reservation information to ensure a smooth check-in. If the reservation is for the Rezen Select Hotel (Chuansha Branch, Shanghai International Tourism and Resort Zone), please contact the transit hotel directly to arrange transportation using the contact details received upon successful completion of their booking, or call the Air China Sales Service Hotline on 95583 for coordination of the transit hotel transfer. If the reservation is for the Skybird Hotel (Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Chuansha Metro Station), the hotel provides airport shuttle service according to fixed schedules. Passengers should contact the hotel directly for details using the hotel contact information received after successful booking.
    ●    Passengers who have booked standard transit accommodation for Chengdu (Tianfu), Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing and Wenzhou may contact the transit hotel directly upon arrival to arrange transportation using the contact details received upon successful completion of their booking, or contact the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 so that Air China can arrange transportation to the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have booked luxury transit accommodation at the Crowne Plaza Beijing International Airport in Beijing (Capital) do not need to go to the Air China Transfer Service Counter upon arrival. These passengers may contact the hotel directly upon arrival to arrange transportation using the contact information received upon successful completion of their booking, or contact the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 so that Air China can arrange transportation to the transit hotel. Free airport transfers are not available to passengers who have booked the Boyue Beijing Hotel at the present time. Passengers are asked to make their own arrangements for transportation between the airport and the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have booked luxury transit accommodation in Shanghai (Pudong) do not need to go to the Air China Transfer Service Counter upon arrival. Passengers may contact the transit hotel directly to arrange transportation using the contact details provided upon successful completion of their booking, or contact the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 so that Air China can arrange transportation to the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have booked luxury transit accommodation in Chengdu Tianfu are not provided with airport transfer service as the Chengdu Joyhub Air Hotel is located in the central core area of Terminals 1 and 2 of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. Please proceed to the hotel on your own upon arrival.
    ●    Only one value-added service product can be booked for each flight segment on the ticket. Products such as Transit Accommodation, Transit Lounge, Luxury Car Transfer and Ground-Air Connection cannot be booked together.
    ●    For the transit accommodation service enquiries, passengers can call the Air China Sales and Service Hotline at 95583.

          ♦  Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket whose ticket number begins with “999.”Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket with two or more segments booked under the same reference number and ticket number. Alternatively, passengers may hold multiple tickets with consecutive ticket numbers if they booked too many segments.
          ♦  Both inbound and outbound segments must bear the CA airline code.
          ♦  The transit Lounge service is only supported for connecting flight tickets in which the preceding flight arrives in the same city and the same airport as the subsequent flight. For example, a ticket itinerary with connecting flight of Harbin–Beijing Daxing (PKX)//Beijing Capital (PEK)–London is not eligible for this product.
          ♦  This product cannot be booked if the place of departure of the preceding flight is the same airport, or a different airport in the same city, as the destination of the subsequent flight. Examples are Hong Kong–Beijing Capital–Hong Kong, and London Heathrow (LHR)–Beijing Capital–London Gatwick (LGW).

    ●  The transit lounge service is a complimentary service provided for customer convenience only. Air China is not obliged to offer this service for connecting flights, nor is this service bundled with paid flights. Passengers are not charged a fee for using this service, nor the cost of this service included in the ticket price or taxes paid by customers. The international transit lounge service in Beijing is conceived by Air China only to make passengers’connections easier and arrange a location for rest for passengers. Air China will not be held responsible for any problems that could occur during the service delivery by the service supplier.
    ●  The space of the transit lounges is limited. Advance reservation is required.

    4. The luxury car transfer service is only provided for travel between the airport terminal and the designated pick-up/drop-off location. If you enter a region other than the specified region in the service address, your order will be considered invalid.
    5. When a passenger purchases a domestic ticket: The applicable routes are limited to domestic routes between cities where the service is available (includes cities marked for expansion). Other routes are not eligible under the product rules. When the departure and destination airports of a flight segment both offer luxury car transfer services, the luxury car transfer service may only be selected to the departure airport or from the destination airport. You cannot select both at the same time.
    Example 1: A passenger who purchases a class F ticket from Changsha to Beijing cannot book luxury car transfer services because they are not available in Changsha. The Changsha to Beijing segment is not eligible under the product rules.
    Example 2: A passenger purchasing a class F ticket from Shanghai to Beijing may select a luxury car transfer service to the airport in Shanghai or from the airport in Beijing, but may not select a luxury car transfer service both to the airport in Shanghai and from the airport in Beijing.
    6.When a passenger purchases a ticket for a domestic flight connecting to an international flight:
        6.1 If the layover time between the domestic flight and international flight is 6 hours or longer.
          6.1.1 When both the domestic and international segments comply with the product rules, the passenger may apply for a luxury car transfer service to the international segment. Passengers may also sign up for a luxury car transfer service to or from the airport for the domestic segment.
          Example: A passenger traveling from Shanghai to Frankfurt via Beijing, who has purchased a class F ticket for the entirety of the trip, and whose layover time in Beijing exceeds 6 hours. The Beijing to Frankfurt segment complies with the rules for the luxury car transfer service, so the passenger can sign up for the drop-off service in Beijing. The Shanghai to Beijing segment also complies with the rules for the luxury car transfer service, so the passenger can also sign up for either the drop-off service in Shanghai or the pickup service in Beijing.
          6.1.2 If one of the domestic or international segments complies with the product rules but the other segment does not, the passenger may only select the corresponding service for the segment that complies with the product rules.
          Example: A passenger traveling from Changsha to Los Angeles via Beijing, who has purchased a class F ticket for the entirety of the trip, and whose layover time in Beijing exceeds 6 hours. The Beijing to Los Angeles segment complies with the product rules, so the passenger can sign up for the drop-off service in Beijing. The Changsha to Beijing segment does not comply with the product rules, so the passenger cannot book a luxury car transfer service in Changsha.
        6.2 If the layover time between the domestic flight and international flight is shorter than 6 hours.
          6.2.1 When one or two domestic or international segments comply with the rules for the luxury car transfer service, you may not book a luxury car transfer service from or to the connecting airport.
          Example: A passenger traveling from Shanghai to Frankfurt via Beijing, who has purchased a class F ticket for the entirety of the trip, and whose layover time in Beijing is 5 hours. The Shanghai to Beijing and Beijing to Frankfurt segments both comply with the product rules. However, passengers are not allowed to book a luxury car transfer service to or from Beijing.
          6.2.2 If the international segment complies with the product rules, and with the exception of the fare class, the domestic segment also complies with the product rules, a luxury car transfer service may be booked at the origin of the domestic segment.
          Example: A passenger traveling from Shanghai to Frankfurt via Beijing, who has purchased a class D ticket for the entirety of the trip, and whose layover time in Beijing is 5 hours. The Beijing to Frankfurt flight segment complies with the product rules, and except for the ticket class, the Shanghai to Beijing segment also complies with the product rules. The passenger can sign up for a drop-off service in Shanghai.
    7. When a passenger purchases a ticket for an international flight connecting to a domestic flight:

    8.Transfers are only provided to destinations specified at the time of booking. If you request a pick-up or drop-off location that was not specified in the original booking, an extra charge will be applied. You must consult the service provider, agree to their fee schedule (for which the service provider reserves the right of interpretation), and pay at the point of use.

    10.Vehicle waiting limits:
          10.1 Domestic pickups: The maximum wait time is 90 minutes from the arranged pickup time.
          10.2 Domestic drop-offs: The maximum wait time is 30 minutes from the arranged pickup time.
          10.3 International pickups: The maximum wait time is 180 minutes from the arranged pickup time.
          10.4 International drop-offs: The maximum wait time is 30 minutes from the arranged pickup time.
          10.5 If the maximum waiting time is exceeded, the customer will be deemed to have used the service, and they will be unable to reserve the service again for that segment.
    11.This service is not available for passengers who are travelling with infants or young children.
    12.Due to system constraints, customers cannot reserve luxury car transfers through the Air China APP after check-in. Customers who have already checked in should call the service and sales hotline (95583) to make a reservation.
    13.Passengers that reserve the luxury car transfer service must consider road conditions and airport processing times when arranging the departure times for pick-up and drop-off.If the passenger requests a later transfer departure time, or the transfer departure time is delayed due to the passenger, the passenger will be held responsible if they miss their flight.

    16.Baggage instructions (for reference only): The Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Hongqi H9 can carry two 28″ suitcases. The Mercedes-Benz EQE can carry one 28″ suitcase and one 26″ suitcase.

  • Name and description

    Passengers who purchase tickets for select fare classes on select flights operated by Air China are eligible to reserve a Ground-Air Connection Service for a free transfer from the airport to select cities in the local area. Ground-air connection services include transit via bus and metro. Plenty of choices for convenient travel! Due to the limited number of seats on partner ground transportation carriers, we cannot guarantee that all eligible passengers will be able to enjoy a Ground-Air transportation service, only available while stocks last. Please make your reservation as soon as possible after confirming your itinerary.

  • Applicability

    1. Eligible flights: CA-coded flights operated by Air China; codeshare flights not eligible.
    2. Eligible tickets: Domestic or international tickets with numbers beginning “999.”
    3. Eligible passengers: Adults and children.
    (Passengers who have booked or intend to book cabin upgrade products, such as boarding gate upgrade, cabin upgrade voucher, on-site upgrade, reward upgrade, etc., cannot reserve ground-air connection services.)
    4. Booking channels:
    (1) Bus via the Air China website, Air China app, any Air China ticket office or via the Air China sales service hotline: 95583.
    (The Beijing air-bus service route can only be booked through the Air China mobile app and the Air China Alipay/WeChat applet.)
    (2) Metro via the Air China app.
    5. Booking deadline:
    (1) Air-Bus Connection Service: Before flight departure. (The Beijing air-bus service routes must be booked 30 days(inclusive) before flight departure.)
    (2) Integrated Air-Rail Service: Before the procedure of boarding flight.
    6. Seat reservations:
    (1) Passengers can reserve seats on bus routes operating in the Shanghai area. Bus seat reservations must be completed two days prior to 12:00 AM on the intended travel date. Passengers traveling on China's National Day or during the Chinese New Year period must complete their seat reservation seven days prior to 12:00 AM on the intended travel date. Passengers can reserve seats on bus routes operating in the Chongqing area. Bus seat reservations must be completed by the passenger 24 hours before the intended travel time by contacting the bus operator directly.
    (2) Passengers may not: reserve seats on bus routes other than those indicated above, make a bus seat reservation outside of the booking deadlines indicated above. In these cases, passengers should follow the instructions of station staff to board an available bus.

    3. The rules for the use of ground transportation services by infants, passengers who are pregnant, sick or injured, passengers with disabilities and other passengers requiring special assistance differ from the airlines’ rules regarding these passengers. Therefore, passengers requiring special assistance should refer to the ground transportation operator's rules and requirements.
    4. Ground transportation services are subject to changes due to the latest epidemic prevention and control requirements in the local area, relevant policies of the ground transportation operator, weather conditions, road conditions, and other unavoidable conditions. These changes may include travel routes, times and the period of validity. Prior to making a purchase or reservation, passengers are urged to consult the ground transportation operator for the latest information. Passengers should refer to the booking confirmation through the relevant booking channel. The bus information provided by Air China is for reference only. Passengers should allow a suitable amount of time for their trip, to avoid any possible delays.
    5. Air China is not liable for flights missed due to passengers not allowing sufficient transfer time, ground transportation delays or other unavoidable conditions.
    6. Legal liabilities during the ground travel segment will be borne by the ground transportation operator. Air China is not responsible for any theft, accidental injury or loss of luggage.
    7. Only one value-added service product can be booked per flight segment, for instance: The flight segment is Beijing Daxing–Shanghai Pudong–Paris, you can only choose to book the air-rail transportation section for Caoqiao Station–Beijing Daxing Station or the bus transportation section for Pudong Airport–Hangzhou Station, simultaneous bookings are not allowed, and you are not permitted to book an additional transit accommodation, transit lounge or luxury car transfer.
    8. Passengers should scan the QR code in the order within the two-day validity based on the booked date to take the bus for the Beijing flight-bus service routes. A screenshot of the QR code needs to be taken, or the code printed out, in order to use it.
    9. Passengers cannot accumulate PhoenixMiles for ground transportation segments, nor can they redeem PhoenixMiles for ground transportation segments.
    10. Passengers making a bus transportation service reservation should arrive at the corresponding station at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the bus. In order to board the bus, passengers are required to present a valid ID document for inspection. For passengers who are unable to arrive at the bus terminal on time, staff will arrange transportation on a later bus. If a passenger misses the last bus, any alternative travel or accommodation arrangements must be made at their own expense.
    11. Once the bus counter staff verifies a passenger's ticket by scanning it or checking it manually, the passenger is deemed to have boarded the bus. The ticket is then valid on the boarding date only and can no longer be altered. A passenger may change to another bus only if a seat is available on other buses on the same route.
    12. Interline passengers with a transit time of more than 6 hours can book the Ground-Air Connection Service.
    13. For metro transportation service reservations, passengers should follow the relevant instructions in the Air China app to make and use their reservation.
    14. In the event of any changes to your flight or ticket, such as itinerary, fare class, date or time, please confirm the validity of your booking. If your booking is canceled, please rebook the product.
    15. In the event of ticket refunds, the associated products will be canceled at the same time and cannot be used.
