General regulations on checked baggage

 

I. Definitions
“Baggage” means the necessary, and an appropriate quantity of, personal articles that the passenger wears and uses for convenience and comfort during the travel.
“Checked Baggage” means the baggage which the passenger hands over to Air China so that Air China can take custody of and transport it and for which Air China has issued the Baggage Identification Tag.

 “Domestic Carriage” refers to carriage in which, according to the contract of carriage, the place of departure, stopover and destination are all situated in the People’s Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan).
 "International Carriage" refers to (except for the purpose of any applicable Convention) carriage in which, according to the contract of carriage, the place of departure, stopover (if any) and destination are situated in one or more countries besides the People’s Republic of China.

 

II. Maximum weight, dimensions and number of pieces of checked baggage

1.Dimensions:
Standard baggage: The total dimensions (length + width + height, including wheels and handles) of each piece must not exceed 203 cm (80 in) and must not be less than 60 cm (24 in).
2.Weight:
Standard baggage: Each piece must not weigh more than 32 kg (70 lb) or less than 2 kg (4 lb). Any piece of baggage that weighs more than 32 kg (70 lb) must be repacked and checked in as two pieces.
