  • Helpful tips

    ●  The space of the transit lounges is limited. Advance reservation is required.
    ●  Reservation needs to be made on Air China’s official website or APP before the flight departs from the connecting airport. Passengers will qualify for lounge access only after reservation has been made successfully. Otherwise, access to the lounge is not allowed.
    ●  If the ticket on the connecting fight is rebooked, reservation for the service needs to be made again on Air China’s official website or APP, and lounge access is allowed only after such reservation has been made successfully.
    ●  At the time of lounge visit, the passenger is required to provide reservation code, his/her ID used at the time of reservation and the boarding pass of the flight segment in question for the passenger’s identity validation. The staff will make and file the photocopies of the passenger’s ID and boarding pass. If the passenger does not agree that the service supplier makes photocopies of the relevant documents, it will be considered that the passenger gives up the benefits of the service on a voluntary basis.
    ●  The number of guestrooms, shower rooms and sleeping rooms in a lounge is limited, which makes it impossible to guarantee that a passenger’s need is always been met. The passenger who needs one should make the request at the time of lounge visit.

    6. Passengers transferring between Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport on an international connecting flight may book a VIP transfer if the transfer time is at least four hours and they have an eligible ticket.
Example: A passenger buys a flight from Paris to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, with a connecting flight from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Chengdu. The customer paid an R class fare for both segments. Because the customer has a five-hour transfer time in Shanghai and they booked an R class fare for the Paris to Shanghai segment, they are eligible to use the VIP chauffeured transfer service between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, and can make a reservation. If the customer’s transfer time was only three hours, they would not have been eligible to use this service.
    7. Transfer services in transit cities:
    (1) If you have a connecting flight and transfer services are available in the transit city, you may book a pick-up or drop-off service if your transit time is at least six hours and the corresponding flight segment is eligible for a transfer.
Example: You are a Silver member and travel in First Class from Frankfurt to Beijing with a connecting F class flight from Beijing to Shanghai. Beijing is the transit city and the transit time is over six hours. For the Frankfurt–Beijing segment, you may book a transfer from Beijing airport. However, for the Beijing–Shanghai segment, you must travel First class and be a Gold member in order to be eligible for a transfer. As you are not a Gold member, you are not eligible for a transfer to Beijing airport or from Shanghai airport.
    (2) If your transit time is less than six hours, you may not request a pick-up or drop-off service in the transit city, even if you are travelling on an eligible flight.
    8. If, when transferring between domestic and international flights, the international flight segment is eligible for a chauffeured transfer service and your transit time is less than six hours, you may request an airport pick-up or drop-off service at the final domestic airport you are travelling to or from, subject to availability.
Example: You book a D-class flight from Frankfurt to Beijing, with a connecting flight from Beijing to Shanghai. The transfer time in Beijing is five hours, and you are eligible for a transfer for the Frankfurt–Beijing segment. The Beijing–Shanghai segment is not eligible, but you may still request an airport pick-up service in Shanghai (however, you may not request a drop-off or pick-up service in Beijing).
    9. Transfers are only provided to destinations specified at the time of booking. If you request a pick-up or drop-off location that was not specified in the original booking, an extra charge will be applied. You must consult the service provider, agree to their fee schedule (for which the service provider reserves the right of interpretation), and pay at the point of use.
If you request additional stops during a journey, an extra charge will be applied. You must consult the service provider, agree to their fee schedule (for which the service provider reserves the right of interpretation), and pay at the point of use. If you request two or more stops during your journey, an extra charge will be applied. You must consult the service provider, agree to their fee schedule (for which the service provider reserves the right of interpretation), and pay at the point of use.
    10. Transfer services cannot be used in conjunction with the 'Transit Hotel' service.
    11. Vehicle waiting limits:
          Airport pick-up - 3 hour waiting time beginning from the time of actual flight arrival;
          Airport drop-off - 30 minute waiting time beginning from the agreed service time;
If these times are exceeded, the service is considered to have been used and may not be requested again for the same segment on the same ticket.
    12. This service is not available for passengers who are travelling with infants or young children.
    13. Transfers cannot be booked online after you have checked in. If you have already checked in and wish to book a transfer, call the Air China hotline on 95583.
    14. Passengers that reserve the transfer service must consider road conditions and airport processing times when arranging the departure times for pick-up and drop-off.If the passenger requests a later transfer departure time, or the transfer departure time is delayed due to the passenger, the passenger will be held responsible if they miss their flight.
    15. Dates the chauffeur service may be reserved:
Drop-offs: Flights whose scheduled departure time (local time at originating airport) is between 1 August 2018 and 31 December 2018.
Pick-ups: Flights whose scheduled landing time (local time at destination airport) is between 1 August 2018 and 31 December 2018.

  • Helpful tips

    1. The conditions of carriage for the ground transportation of passengers who require special assistance, including infants, pregnant women and passengers that are injured, ill or disabled, may differ from those of the airline. In case of any doubt, please check the service provider's terms of service before purchasing a ticket.
    2. All ground transportation services are governed by separate agreements concluded by Air China and service providers, therefore, the service period may vary from route to route. Please visit the Air China website to check service availability.
    3. The service provider shall assume legal liability for bus or train journeys. Air China cannot be held responsible for any theft, accidental injury or loss of luggage suffered by passengers.
    4. Air China cannot be held responsible if passengers miss their flight because they failed to allow enough time for a connection; there were service provider problems; or other force majeure.
    5. Passengers may not earn or exchange PhoenixMile mileage for ground transportation segments.
    6. Seat reservations are not available for bus transportation segments; it is the passenger's responsibility to ensure that they board the correct bus. For rail transportation segments, seats are assigned automatically when passengers collect their train ticket from the ticket office.
    7. Only one bus connection can be reserved per flight segment. For example, if a passenger flies from Beijing to Shanghai Pudong, they may reserve a bus from Baoding to Beijing, or from Shanghai Pudong to Hangzhou, but not both.
    8. Bus routes and schedules may change as a result of operational requirements, adverse weather, road closures and other force majeure. Bus information provided at the time of booking is for reference only. Passengers should ensure that they allow enough time to make their connection.
    9. Due to high passenger numbers, passengers should ensure that they arrive at the bus station at least 30 minutes before departure. Before boarding, passengers must present their ID card or passport for verification by a member of staff. In case of late arrival, staff will arrange for passengers to board the next bus. If a passenger misses the last bus, any alternative travel or accommodation arrangements must be made at their own expense.
    10. After the passenger's ID documents have been verified, the bus segment is confirmed and is valid for that day only. The date of travel cannot be changed, but passengers can board a different bus on the same date if seats are available.
    11. Rail segments must be booked at least two days in advance (e.g. trains departing on 26 May must be booked by 24 May at the latest). Train tickets are released by China Railway 30 days before the departure date.
    12. To redeem their train ticket, passengers must present the travel document they used for their booking at a designated railway ticket office or counter at least 90 minutes before departure. If passengers do not redeem their train ticket on the day of departure, the rail segment will be forfeited and no ticket change or refund can be offered.
    13. The system shall mark rail segments as used after passengers redeem their ticket. Passengers should take care not to lose their ticket. If passengers lose their ticket, they should promptly report the loss and request a new ticket, in accordance with China Railway regulations.
    14. Passengers must cover the cost of transport between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station themselves when connecting between Air China-operated flights and rail segments.
