    Extra Baggage

    Need more than your free baggage allowance to check in? Try extra baggage service. You can pay for your extra baggage in advance, saving both time and money and enjoy peace of mind before you fly.

  • Restrictions

    1. The ticket number you purchased must start with “999”. The flight must be marked with CA code and operated by Air China.

    2. Your flight is an international/regional direct flight OR transfer flight (one transfer only), And some domestic direct flight.

    5.IF Your baggage allowance is measured by weight. You can choose to purchase any of the following quotas: 5KG, 10KG, 15KG and 20KG. Each passenger can only buy once per flight and at maximum of 20 KGs.

    6. Infant ticket are not applicable.

    The extra baggage service applies only to general checked baggage, not to special checked baggage or carry-on baggage. The charge does not replace the extra charges for "overweight and oversized" baggage.     The total dimensions (length + width + height, including wheels and handles) of each piece of checked baggage may not exceed 158cm/62in and may not be less than 60cm/24in. The weight of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 32kg/70lbs for First class and Business class passengers, and for Premium Economy Class, Super Economy Class and Economy Class passengers the weight of each piece of checked baggage must be no more than 23kg/50lbs. The weight of each piece of checked baggage must be no less than 2kg/4lbs and no more than 32kg/70lbs.
    If the baggage you carry does not meet the above requirements, you will be required to pay the fee at airport according to Excess Baggage Charges for Air China-Operated Flights, and the oversized and overweight charges will be Superposition calculated.Baggage that exceeds 32kg/70lbs weight limits cannot be carried as checked baggage.   • Helpful tips

    1.After completing your payment, please pay attention whether the system has successfully issued your extra baggage ticket number, which is the only reference of successful purchase, and you will also receive an SMS notification from Air China.

    2.If there are any changes to your ticket number due to rescheduling or upgrades and you still require extra baggage, please rebook this service.

    3.extra baggage can be used only when checking baggage at the check-in counter, and cannot be accepted at the boarding gate. When you check in at the counter, please remind the staff member that you have booked extra baggage service, to avoid double charges.

    4.If you need to cancel your extra baggage, please apply for a refund through the original purchase channel before check-in. There is no penalty for refund of extra baggage service.But the extra baggage service cannot be refund based on part of the weight or part of the itinerary. Please buy on demand.

    5.If you have purchased extra baggage through Air China website and do not need it when checking baggage, please call 95583-1-5 after your flight to request a refund. Refunds are valid for up to 12 months after purchase.

    6.If you need service invoice, please call 95583-1-5 within 45 days after using the service.

    Preferred Seat:

    You are always unable to obtain your preferred seat at check-in?

    Don’t worry. We block in advance a certain zone of great seats. So, you can select your preferred seat in advance.

  • Restrictions

    1. Eligible tickets: International tickets with ticket numbers preceded by "999".
    2. Eligible flights: Air China-operated and coded direct international flights. Codeshare flights do not qualify.
    3. Eligible booking classes: Economy Class;
    4. Booking period: From the time of ticket purchase until check-in; The deadline for advance seat selection may be earlier on some flights. Please read the fare conditions at the time of ticket purchase or check with Air China staff.
    5. Eligible passengers: Adult and child passengers;
    6. Pursuant to the rules of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), passengers seated in emergency exit seats must be aged 15–64, satisfy emergency exit seating requirements and be able and willing to assist in the event of an emergency. For more information, please contact the place where you bought your ticket. Before booking, please note that for safety reasons, the seat backs on some emergency exit seats are not adjustable.
    7. This service is not available to passengers who have already checked in.
    8. If you are an Air China PhoenixMiles Platinum Card member, you will have the right to choose an economy class seat for free. Please select your seat as soon as possible after purchasing the ticket, the product stock is limited and it is first come first served.
    9. You can request a purchase invoice within 45 days of using this product by calling the Air China hotline on 95583-1-5.

  • Routes that provide the service

    Air China-operated non-stop and direct international flights. Prices and route eligibility criteria shown at the time of purchase will apply for all Preferred Seat.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable on international flights that include a domestic segment.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable through self-service channels for flights originating inDaegu, Pyongyang, Yangon and Ulaanbaatar. Advance seat selection is also unavailable on some open-jaw itineraries (e.g. Beijing - Minsk - Budapest - Beijing; Beijing - Islamabad - Karachi - Beijing). If you are unable to select a seat in advance, you can still request a paid seat during airport check-in.

  • Reminders

    1. You can only select a seat on the plane in advance. You must still go through check-in before the flight departs.
    2. Your Preferred Seat may change due to changes to the flight or aircraft type, or actions taken by the airline for safety or operational reasons. We will do our utmost to arrange another seat of equal value for you. If you are moved to a seat of lesser value, you may contact the sales channel through which you purchased the ticket to apply for a refund, or apply for an electronic service voucher of the same value as the purchased seat (including passengers who booked seats using mileage points or vouchers).
    3. Preferred Seat selection currently only supports single seat bookings. When seat adjustments are necessary, seats will also be reserved on a single-seat basis.
    4. Preferred Seat selection product offers you the opportunity to reserve a seat on the flight in advance, allowing you to book a seat with extra leg room or a regular seat as needed. However, due to airline safety reasons and special service guarantees, not all seats in Economy Class are available for Preferred Seat. During check-in, some paid seats may be opened up to self-check-in passengers. Please consider whether you need to book a Preferred Seat.
    5. If you successfully book an emergency exit row seat, you will not be able to check-in through self-service channels, and you must instead go to a check-in counter to check in.
    6. As some flights include a Premium Economy Class, the first row of seats in Economy Class do not offer extra space. If you need to book a seat with extra leg room, please book a seat in the emergency exit row.
    7. If you have any questions when booking or using your Preferred Seat, please make a note of the relevant information (such as screenshots of system errors, boarding passes or photographs), and call 95583 for assistance. Air China will help you to identify the specific issue and provide a solution as quickly as possible.

    Regulations for refunds, rescheduling, and endorsements
    1. Endorsements: not permitted.
    2. Rescheduling: not permitted. If you need to reschedule your ticket, you must request a refund of your Preferred Seat (see below for refund conditions), change the ticket dates, and then re-book your Preferred Seat. If time is limited or in other special circumstances, you can save your Preferred Seat order information and finish making the changes to your ticket before contacting 95583 to process the Preferred Seat order. If the refund conditions are met, then your refund can still be processed.
    3. Refunds:
    ●  Refund requests must be sent to the original sales channel used to book your Preferred Seat.
    ●  For refund requests made more than 48 hours prior to the flight's departure, the seat selection fee can be refunded free of charge. You can either handle the refund yourself via the original purchasing channel, or contact 95583 to process the refund.
    ●  For refund requests made within 48 hours of the flight's departure or after the flight has departed, the seat selection fee cannot be refunded. If you have already processed a refund for your ticket, the product can be refunded free of charge. Please contact 95583 at the end of your original flight to request the refund.
    ●  When reserving an emergency exit seat, please carefully read the relevant restrictions. If you do not meet the conditions to be seated in an emergency exit seat, then no refund can be given.
    ●  If you have purchased an upgrade or redeemed mileage awards for an upgrade, the product can be refunded free of charge. After completing your journey, please contact 95583 to receive your refund.
    ●  If you are unable to occupy the reserved seat, but Air China assigns you another seat of the same value, or a seat of higher value or in a higher class, then the seat selection fee cannot be refunded.
    ●  For passengers paying with mileage who wish to cancel the order, the miles will be returned according to their original period of validity, while miles that have already expired will be automatically invalidated. Please be aware of this and consider how it applies to you when booking this product. In the event of changes to the product owing to reasons of the airline, miles which have expired will be extended by one month.
    ●  If the refund conditions for the advance seat selection are met, the deadline for refunds is 12 months from the date of purchase.

    ●    In order to cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control efforts, hotel check-in policies in various regions may be affected to varying degrees. If you have booked Air China transit accommodation service, in order to avoid your travel and hotel check-in being affected, you should be aware of the relevant policy information in advance and contact the transit hotel with accommodation booked to confirm whether you are eligible to check in before your travel. Please refer to the related service information on Air China website and the Air China app for the contact information of transit hotels in various regions.

    ●    Due to the impact from the epidemic, hotel cooperation and other factors, the service availability/booking suspension, and the cities (airports), transit types and hotels with service availability may be adjusted at any time. For details, please refer to the actual service provided by the system during booking.

  • Service name and description

    ●    Passengers who meet transit accommodation conditions may have the opportunity to enjoy the transit accommodation services provided by Air China, which include one-night accommodation and breakfast in the hotel located in the transit city, as well as hotel-airport transportation.

    ●    The transit accommodation service is available in Beijing (Capital), Chengdu (Shuangliu), Chengdu (Tianfu), Shanghai, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing, Wenzhou and Wuhan.(Due to the impact from the epidemic, hotel cooperation and other factors, the cities (airports) where the service is available may be adjusted at any time. For details, please refer to the actual services provided by the system during booking.)

    ●    In Shanghai, free transportation is only available between Pudong International Airport and the transit hotel. Passengers transferring at Hongqiao International Airport must make their own travel arrangements.

    ●    Passengers must transfer at one of the above locations and meet the Air China transit accommodation terms and conditions to be eligible for this service.

  • Terms and conditions



    ●    Transit time requirements
        ♦For overnight transit (the transit point: arrival time of the previous flight and the departure time of the subsequent flight are not on the same day), where the connecting flights are both domestic flights, the transit time must be ≥ 6 hours and ≦ 24 hours; where a domestic flight is connecting with an international flight, an international flight is connecting with a domestic flight, or an international flight is connecting with another international flight, the transit time must be ≥ 6 hours and ≤ 30 hours.
        ♦For same-day transit (the transit point: arrival time of the previous flight and the departure time of the subsequent flight are on the same day), the scheduled arrival time of the previous flight is before 8:00 am (including) and the transit time ≥ 6 hours.
    ●    Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket whose ticket number begins with “999.”Passengers must hold a connecting flight ticket with two or more segments booked under the same reference number and ticket number. Alternatively, passengers may hold multiple tickets with consecutive ticket numbers if they booked too many segments.
    ●    Both inbound and outbound segments must bear the CA airline code.
    ●    Both inbound and outbound flights may be operated by Air China, Shandong Airlines or Shenzhen Airlines, providing they meet the following requirements.(Due to the impact from the epidemic, hotel cooperation and other factors, the transit types for which the service is available may be adjusted at any time.     ●    For transfers in Shanghai, if the international segment of a connecting flight bears the CA airline code and is operated by Air China, the domestic segment may be operated by Juneyao Air, providing it also bears the CA code.
    ●    The transit accommodation service is only supported for connecting flight tickets in which the preceding flight arrives in the same city and the same airport as the subsequent flight. For example, a ticket itinerary with connecting flight of Harbin–Beijing Capital (PEK)//Beijing Daxing (PKX)–Guangzhou is not eligible for this product. The only exception is the Shanghai transit accommodation product, which can be used for connecting flight tickets in which the preceding flight arrives in the same city at a different airport as the subsequent flight. For example, a ticket itinerary with connecting flight of Beijing Capital (PEK)–Shanghai Hongqiao//Shanghai Pudong–Guangzhou is eligible for this product.
    ●    This product cannot be booked if the place of departure of the preceding flight is the same airport, or a different airport in the same city, as the destination of the subsequent flight. Examples are Shenyang–Chengdu Shuangliu–Shenyang, and Beijing Capital (PEK)–Hangzhou–Beijing Daxing (PKX).
    ●    Transit accommodation service in Beijing(Capital) is available only to transit passengers who travel on pre-booked eligible flights into and out of Beijing Capital International Airport.
    ●    Transit accommodation service in Chengdu(Shuangliu) is available only to transit passengers who travel on pre-booked eligible flights into and out of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.
    ●    Transit accommodation service in Chengdu(Tianfu) is available only to transit passengers who travel on pre-booked eligible flights into and out of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.
    ●    Passenger requirements
          ♦  Passengers with N class tickets, award tickets, free tickets, infant tickets, children's tickets (Passenger Name Records for children only) and unaccompanied minors are not eligible to use the transit accommodation service.
          ♦  In Shanghai, in addition to the ticket types listed above, transit accommodation is also not available to passengers transferring from domestic to domestic flights with fare class T tickets.
          ♦  The transit accommodation service may not be booked for infants, but infants can stay with an accompanying adult.
          ♦  For minors under 18 years of age who are checking into the hotel alone, please confirm in advance the check-in policy for minors with the hotel you have booked. The specific policy is subject to the requirements of each hotel. Air China shall not be held liable if you do not meet the relevant check-in policy for minors and are refused entry by the hotel.
    ●    Travel dates
    The scheduled arrival time of the flight into the transit city is no later than December 31, 2022.(Due to the impact from the epidemic, hotel cooperation and other factors, for details of the availability/booking suspension, please refer to the actual service provided by the system during booking.)

  • Booking methods

    ●    Manual booking
    When purchasing tickets, please ask the ticket sales staff to assist in booking the transit accommodation service or contact the Air China sales service hotline on 95583.
    ●    Self-service booking
    After purchasing tickets, visit Air China's official website or the Air China app to make a reservation.
    ●    Hotel types
          ♦  Passengers who transit at Beijing (Capital), Chengdu (Shuangliu), Shanghai, for whom the international (or regional) segment of the connecting flight is actually carried by Air China, and whose purchased cabin is business / first class (cabins F/A/J/C/D/Z/R) can contact the Air China Sales and Service Hotline on 95583 to book a luxury transit hotel. (G1 group).
          ♦  Other passengers who meet the transit accommodation conditions can book an ordinary transit hotel.Where hotel occupancy permits, criteria for ordinary transit hotels suitable for passengers are as follows:
          A. First and business class passengers on the preceding or succeeding flight can book transit hotels in the G2/ G3 group. They have priority in hotel and single room selection.
          B. Lifetime Platinum cardholders, Platinum cardholders, and Gold cardholders on an international (regional) preceding or succeeding flight and whose cabin is super economy/economy can book G2/G3 hotels and have priority in hotel and single room selection.
          C. Other passengers on an international (regional) preceding or succeeding flight and whose cabin is super economy/economy can book G2/G3 hotels.
          D. Passengers for whom the preceding and succeeding flights are both domestic flights and whose cabin is super economy/economy (cabins G/E/Y/B/M/U) can book Air China G3 hotels and have priority in single room selection. Among them, PhoenixMiles Lifetime Platinum cardholders, Platinum cardholders, and Gold cardholders enjoy priority in hotel selection.
          E. Passengers for whom the preceding and succeeding flights are both domestic flights and whose cabin is economy (cabins H/Q/V/W/S/T/L/P/K) can book Air China G3 hotels.
          F. If both connecting flight segments are domestic and both are economy/super economy class (fare codes G/E/Y/B/M/U and H/Q/V/W/S/T/L/P/K combinations), passengers can book Air China G3 hotels.

  • Helpful tips

    ●    The transit accommodation service is a complimentary service provided for customer convenience only. Air China is not obliged to offer this service for connecting flights, nor is this service bundled with paid flights. Passengers are not charged a fee for using this service, nor the cost of this service included in the ticket price or taxes paid by customers. Air China does not assume any liability for issues that relate to the service provider.
    ●    Due to the limited daily availability of rooms at partner hotels, it is not possible to ensure that all eligible customers can enjoy transit accommodation. Passengers are requested to make their reservation as soon as possible after confirming their itinerary. Passengers who meet the conditions for hotel selection and single rooms may choose a service of the corresponding standard, subject to hotel room availability. Passengers who do not meet the conditions may not specify their preferred hotel or choose a single room and will automatically be assigned a hotel by the system. If passengers who do not meet the conditions for hotel selection wish to change their hotel reservation, they may try booking again. However, Air China does not guarantee that the system can definitely change the hotel. If the hotel cannot be changed after attempting to re-book, the passenger may choose whether or not to continue using the service at their own discretion. Changes to the hotel or room type must be made before the departure of the preceding flight.
    ●    Passengers should book the transit accommodation service in person or through a self-service channel prior to boarding their inbound flight. On-arrival bookings are not accepted.
    ●    International arrival passengers are requested to confirm in advance that they meet the entry qualifications and to ensure that they have a valid entry and stay permit. Air China shall not be held liable for any failure to use the service due to the passenger not meeting entry qualifications.
    ●    If passengers require an extra bed, they are required to cover any additional charges.
    ●    For passengers who have booked transit accommodation services: if your connecting flight changes (such as date, time, fare class, itinerary, flight number, etc.), your booking may be canceled. Please confirm the validity of your booking. If, after your booking has been canceled and your flight has been rescheduled, you still meet the conditions for booking the product, please re-book the product before the booking deadline; you may only use the hotel once you have successfully made a reservation. If, after your booking has been canceled and your flight has been rescheduled, you no longer meet the conditions for booking the product, you will not be able to book and continue to use the product.
    ●    After arriving at the hotel, passengers must present the identification documents used to purchase their tickets, as well as any relevant boarding passes to verify their identity.
    ●    Hotel check-in and check-out times are determined by the hotel.
    ●    Passengers booking the transit accommodation service in Beijing (Capital), Chengdu (Shuangliu) and Shanghai should go to the Air China transit service desk upon arrival. The transit service desk will contact the hotel and request a vehicle to collect the passengers. If the desk is closed, you can contact the hotel directly using the contact information you received after completing your reservation and ask to be picked up. You can also contact the Air China sales service hotline at 95583 as explained on the sign displayed at the service desk, and Air China will coordinate your transfer to the hotel. Passengers arriving at Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital International Airport do not need to go to the Air China Transfer Service counter upon arrival. If you have booked Air China transit accommodation service, please contact the hotel directly to arrange transportation from the airport using the contact details you received with your notification of successful booking, or call the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 and Air China will arrange your transfer to the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have reserved transit accommodation in Chengdu(Tianfu), Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing, Wenzhou or Wuhan may contact the hotel directly upon arrival using the contact information provided after successfully completing the reservation, or contact the Air China sales service hotline at 95583 and Air China will arrange a transfer to the hotel.
    ●    Passengers who have reserved luxury transit accommodation at the Crowne Plaza International Airport Hotel in Beijing Capital International Airport do not need to go to the Air China Transfer Service counter upon arrival. Please contact the hotel directly using the contact details provided with the notification of successful booking, or contact the Air China Sales Service Hotline at 95583 and Air China will arrange a transfer to the hotel. Passengers who have booked accommodation at Air China Boyue Beijing Hotel are requested to make their own arrangements for transportation between the airport and hotel, as the hotel is located in Beijing city center and does not currently provide free hotel transfer service from the airport.
    ●    Passengers who have reserved luxury transit accommodation in Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport do not need to go to Air China Transfer Service counter. Please contact the hotel directly upon arrival using the contact details provided with the notification of successful booking, or contact the Air China sales service hotline at 95583 and Air China will arrange a transfer to the hotel.
    ●    Only one value-added service product can be booked for each flight segment on the ticket. Products such as Transit Accommodation, Transit Lounge, Chauffeured Transfer and Ground-Air Connection cannot be booked together.
    ●    For the transit accommodation service enquiries, passengers can call the Air China Sales and Service Hotline at 95583.

  • Helpful tips


    ●  The space of the transit lounges is limited. Advance reservation is required.
    ●  Advance booking is not needed for first class and business class passengers transiting through Shanghai Pudong International Airport and they can directly enter the transit lounge. The Air China first class lounge is provided for first class passengers and the Air China business class lounge is provided for business class passengers. All other passengers must book the service through a manual or self-service channel before the flight to the transit city departs. The service is only available to passengers who have booked successfully. Passengers without a successful booking may not enter the paid airport transit lounges.
    ●  If the relevant transit segment is changed, you need to re-book the hourly charged lounge. You can use it after successful reservation.
    ●  When arriving at the lounge, passengers must provide the ID document used to purchase their ticket and the boarding pass for the relevant flight segment so that staff can verify the passenger's identity. The transit lounge service is only available after successful verification. Staff will make and retain copies of the passenger's ID and boarding pass. If the passenger does not agree to the staff making such copies, the passenger shall be deemed to have voluntarily waived the use of this product.

    2. Reservations
    (i) Reservations for airport drop-off services should be made at least eight hours ahead of the scheduled flight departure time (local time).
    (ii) Reservations for airport pick-up services must be made at least eight hours before the scheduled flight arrival time (local time).
    3. The transfer service is only provided for travel between the airport terminal and the designated pick-up/drop-off location.
    4. Platinum members who travel first class or business class (F/A/J/C/D/Z) on Air China-operated routes to/from Europe, the Americas, Oceania, and Africa, or who travel on an Air China-operated flight with a ticket that does not start with "999" may call 95583 to book this service.
    5. If the passenger's ticket number starts with "086" and is for first or business class (J/C/D/Z/R) travel on an Air China-operated flight between Beijing and Auckland, such as flights coded *NZ3888, *NZ3889, CA783, or CA784, the passenger may call 95583 to reserve a transfer service to/from Beijing airport.
    6. If transfer services are available at both the origin and destination airports, passengers may book either a pick-up or a drop-off service, but not both.
    Example 1: The passenger is a Gold member and travels in F Class from Chengdu to Beijing. They may book a drop-off at Chengdu airport or a pick-up from Beijing airport, but not both.
    Example 2: A gold member buys a first class return flight from Chengdu to Beijing. For the Chengdu to Beijing segment, they may choose either a drop-off service at Chengdu airport, or a pick-up service from Beijing airport, but not both; for the Beijing to Chengdu segment, the passenger may choose either a drop-off service at Beijing airport, or a pick-up service at Chengdu airport, but not both. They may not reserve both a drop-off service in Chengdu and a pick-up service in Beijing for the Chengdu to Beijing segment, or a drop-off service in Beijing and a pick-up service in Chengdu for the Beijing to Chengdu segment.
    7. Passengers transferring between Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport on an international connecting flight may book a chauffeured transfer if the transfer time is at least four hours and they have an eligible ticket.
    Example: A passenger buys a flight from Paris to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, with a connecting flight from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Chengdu. The passenger paid an R class fare for both segments. Because the passenger has a five-hour transfer time in Shanghai and they booked an R class fare for the Paris to Shanghai segment, they are eligible to use the chauffeured transfer service between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, and can make a reservation. If the passenger’s transfer time was only three hours, they would not have been eligible to use this service.
    8. Where a chauffeured transfer service is available at the connecting point of a connecting flight:
    (i) If the customer’s transfer time at the connecting point is at least six hours and they have a flight to or from the connecting point that makes them eligible for the chauffeured transfer service, they may request a pick-up or drop-off service at the connecting point for that segment.
    Example: A passenger is a silver member and travels in first class from Frankfurt to Beijing with a connecting F class flight from Beijing to Shanghai. Beijing is the transit city and the transit time is over six hours. For the Frankfurt–Beijing segment, you may book a transfer from Beijing airport. However, for the Beijing–Shanghai segment, you must travel First class and be a Gold member in order to be eligible for a transfer. As you are not a Gold member, you are not eligible for a transfer to Beijing airport or from Shanghai airport.
    (ii) If the passenger's transit time is less than six hours, they may not request a pick-up or drop-off service in the transit city, even if they are travelling on an eligible flight.
    9. If, when transferring between domestic and international flights, the international flight segment is eligible for a chauffeured transfer service and the transit time is less than six hours, the passenger may request an airport pick-up or drop-off service at the final domestic airport they are travelling to or from, subject to availability.
    Example: You book a D-class flight from Frankfurt to Beijing, with a connecting flight from Beijing to Shanghai. The transfer time in Beijing is five hours, and you are eligible for a transfer for the Frankfurt–Beijing segment. The Beijing–Shanghai segment is not eligible, but you may still request an airport pick-up service in Shanghai (however, you may not request a drop-off or pick-up service in Beijing).
    10. Transfers are only provided to destinations specified at the time of booking. If you request a pick-up or drop-off location that was not specified in the original booking, an extra charge will be applied. You must consult the service provider, agree to their fee schedule (for which the service provider reserves the right of interpretation), and pay at the point of use.

    12. Vehicle waiting limits:
          (i) Pick-ups: The maximum waiting time is three hours from the actual time of arrival.
          (ii) Drop-offs: The maximum waiting time is 30 minutes from the arranged pick-up time.
          (iii) If the maximum waiting time is exceeded, the customer will be deemed to have used the service, and they will be unable to reserve the service again for that segment.
    13. This service is not available for passengers who are travelling with infants or young children.
    14. Due to system constraints, customers cannot reserve chauffeured transfers through the official Air China website or app after check-in. Customers who have already checked in should call the service and sales hotline (95583) to make a reservation.
    15. Passengers that reserve the transfer service must consider road conditions and airport processing times when arranging the departure times for pick-up and drop-off. If the passenger requests a later transfer departure time, or the transfer departure time is delayed due to the passenger, the passenger will be held responsible if they miss their flight.
    16. For business/first-class tickets (cabins F/A/J/C/D/Z/R) from Johannesburg to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Xi'an, Wenzhou and Wuhan via Shenzhen or from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Xi'an, Wenzhou and Wuhan to Johannesburg via Shenzhen, and for CA867/8 round-trip flights from Johannesburg to Shenzhen, where the transit duration in Shenzhen is less than 24 hours and the leg in China is with Shenzhen Airlines (flight code *CA or ZH), passengers can apply for the Local Shuttle Service in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Xi'an,Wenzhou and Wuhan, and can apply for the Remote Shuttle Service in Shanghai and Chengdu, the passenger may call 95583 to book this service.

    5. Booking deadline: Before flight departure. (The following ground–air services can only be reserved 30 days prior to flight take-off: Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) – Beijing Railway Station / Beijing South Railway Station / Beijing West Railway Station)
    6. Seat reservations:
    (1) Passengers can reserve seats on bus routes operating in the Shanghai area. Bus seat reservations must be completed two days prior to 12:00 AM on the intended travel date. Passengers traveling on China's National Day or during the Chinese New Year period must complete their seat reservation seven days prior to 12:00 AM on the intended travel date. Passengers can reserve seats on bus routes operating in the Chongqing area. Bus seat reservations must be completed by the passenger 24 hours before the intended travel time by contacting the bus operator directly.
    (2) Passengers may not: reserve seats on bus routes other than those indicated above, make a bus seat reservation outside of the booking deadlines indicated above. In these cases, passengers should follow the instructions of station staff to board an available bus.
    (3) For rail transportation segments, seats cannot be reserved in advance and are assigned automatically when passengers collect their train tickets from the ticket office. Passengers cannot reserve seats on metro routes. Passengers are free to enter the station and board the metro themselves.

  • Helpful tips

    1. The rules for the use of ground transportation services by infants, passengers who are pregnant, sick or injured, passengers with disabilities and other passengers requiring special assistance differ from the airlines’ rules regarding these passengers. Therefore, passengers requiring special assistance should refer to the ground transportation operator's rules and requirements.
    2. Ground transportation services are subject to changes due to the latest epidemic prevention and control requirements in the local area, relevant policies of the ground transportation operator, weather conditions, road conditions, and other unavoidable conditions. These changes may include travel routes, times and the period of validity. Prior to making a purchase or reservation, passengers are urged to consult the ground transportation operator for the latest information. Passengers should refer to the booking confirmation through the relevant booking channel. The bus information provided by Air China is for reference only. Passengers should allow a suitable amount of time for their trip, to avoid any possible delays.
    3. Air China is not liable for flights missed due to passengers not allowing sufficient transfer time, ground transportation delays or other unavoidable conditions.
    4. Legal liabilities during the ground travel segment will be borne by the ground transportation operator. Air China is not responsible for any theft, accidental injury or loss of luggage.
    5. Passengers may only reserve one ground transportation service per flight segment. For example: A passenger with a Beijing–Shanghai Pudong flight segment may select one of the following bus services: Baoding–Beijing OR Shanghai Pudong–Suzhou. The passenger CANNOT reserve both the Baoding–Beijing AND Shanghai Pudong–Suzhou bus services.
    6. Passengers cannot accumulate PhoenixMiles for ground transportation segments, nor can they redeem PhoenixMiles for ground transportation segments.
    7. Passengers making a bus transportation service reservation should arrive at the corresponding station at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the bus. In order to board the bus, passengers are required to present a valid ID document for inspection. For passengers who are unable to arrive at the bus terminal on time, staff will arrange transportation on a later bus. If a passenger misses the last bus, any alternative travel or accommodation arrangements must be made at their own expense.
    8. Once the bus counter staff verifies a passenger's ticket, the passenger is deemed to have boarded the bus. The ticket is then valid on the boarding date only, and the date can no longer be altered. The passenger may change to another bus on the same day only if a seat is available.
    9. Passengers who have reserved bus transportation service from Beijing Capital International Airport to Beijing Railway Station / Beijing South Railway Station / Beijing West Railway Station should directly scan the QR code in the service order to board the bus within the validity period. The QR code can be used after taking screenshots or printing. It is subject to the booked boarding date and is valid within two natural days.
    10. As the services provided for each rail transportation route are bound by an agreement between Air China and the service provider, available trains will vary from those available on the 12306 China Railway website. Please refer to the information displayed by your booking channel at the time of booking.
    11. Passengers who have reserved rail transportation service should arrive at the designated window or counter of the railway station 90 minutes before departure on the day of the scheduled train departure and collect the train tickets by presenting the original ID document used to reserve the air–rail connection service before boarding the train. For rail tickets that are not collected on the day of the train's scheduled departure, the rail transportation segment will expire and become invalid. In such cases, passengers are not eligible to obtain a replacement ticket or refund.
    12. Once a rail ticket has been collected, the rail transportation segment will be deemed as used. Passengers should keep their train tickets safe. In the event that the original ticket is lost, the passenger must purchase a new ticket at their own expense according to the relevant regulations of the National Railway Administration department.
    13. For metro transportation service reservations, passengers should follow the relevant instructions in the Air China app to make and use their reservation.
