What does Air China think of the new regulations surrounding airport scheduling, and how will the Company respond?

According to the Time Slots Market Allocation Reform Pilot Program outlined by the CAAC, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport launched an initial market reform trial around a “Time slots auction” and Shanghai Pudong International Airport launched a similar “Time slots lottery and access fee” trial. In 2016 Baiyun and Pudong airport will add 196 new takeoff/landing slots per week with 50% implemented for market allocation trials to support domestic passenger travel; the remaining 50% will be distributed through administration, for use on regional and international flights.

Response to the regulations: On the one hand, Air China will make effective use of the existing time slots. We will improve the accuracy of prelimilary market judgement, strengthen the management of flight schedules, increase the service efficiency of time slots, and prevent slot resources from being recalled. On the other hand, we will enhance our ability to capture and store resources. We will strengthen access abilities for the coordination of newly added airport time slots and seize every opportunity to win new slots. We will actively participate in the reform of time slots allocation and follow up with a scientific analysis of their value.
