What is the Company’s fleet adjustment guideline towards China’s 13th Five-Year Plan?

In response to the 13th Five-Year Plan, the Company will take the “New Normal” as its starting point. On the one hand, Air China is set to adapt to a slowing economy and an increase in international travel over domestic travel, and will strengthen investment in wide-body aircraft to mid-long haul routes while growing the overall fleet. On the other hand, the Company will ensure a good match of aircraft and routes to drive up operational efficiency and aircraft utilization.

The “13th Five-Year” fleet will enter a new round of optimization. Old aircraft in the wide-body fleet, such as the B777-200 and B747-400P, will gradually retire and be replaced by the new generation of B787-9 and A350 aircraft, which offer greater efficiency. On the narrow-body fleet, the Company will introduce the B737MAX and A320NEO to replace the B737NG and A320CEO to ensure an effective complement to the existing fleet. The Company is committed to continuously optimizing the fleet through the tracking and management of the fleet’s life cycle.
