Who can use Air China's online check-in service?

A: Adult passengers who have purchased electronic tickets for flights carried by Air China with definite flight numbers and who haven't made any changes to their flight itinerary. Air China's online check-in service is available for domestic and international flights originating from several Chinese cities. We do not accept service requests for special passengers, including VIP passengers, injured or sick passengers, disabled passengers, injured or disabled veterans, police officers, pregnant women, minors and unaccompanied seniors, and passengers with special meals.

Is the online check-in service available for tickets purchased via travel agencies or agents?

A: Electronic tickets for Air China operated flights purchased via any channel are eligible for the service.

Can I use the online check-in service if my itinerary includes other airlines' flight segments?

A: No. Only flights carried by Air China are eligible for the service.

Is the online check-in service available for domestic connecting flights?

A: Yes. There is a printable boarding pass for each flight segment (the online check-in service is not available for domestic flight segments of international flights).

Is the online check-in service available for domestic flight segments of international flights?

A: Yes, but international flights originating from China do not qualify for the service.

Is the online check-in service available for group bookings?

A: Yes. The system can also be used to handle boarding passes for group bookings. In this case, each individual passenger will handle their own boarding pass.

Does the system support online check-in for multiple passengers?

A: You may conduct online check-in procedures for multiple passengers using the booking record number on the condition that, at most, 3 passengers are involved.

When is the online check-in service available?

A: The online check-in service opening hours vary depending on the airport. For more information, please check the "List of Cities Available for Online Check-in and Opening Hours".

How to long does it take to check in on Air China's website?

A: Enter Air China's website at http://www.airchina.com.cn, then select "Check in". Input the correct booking information and select the city of departure.

Can I change a seat I selected after conducting the online check-in procedure?

A: Passengers who have printed their boarding passes using the online check-in service can log in to Air China's website again, select another seat and print their boarding passes (your boarding pass is deemed invalid after you click "cancel a seat"; you can conduct the boarding pass procedure three times for the same flight segment).

Can I conduct the online check-in procedure without a printer?

A: Yes, you may bring a valid ID document to reprint the boarding pass at the Air China designated counter at the airport of origin for the flight segment.

Why can't I print my boarding pass?

A: A printing problem may have been caused by your Internet browser, network or printer. If you failed to print your boarding pass, please complete the check-in procedures and print your boarding pass at an Air China designated counter at the airport of origin for the flight segment.

What should I do if my boarding pass is lost?

A: Bring a valid ID document to reprint your boarding pass at an Air China designated counter at the airport of origin for the flight segment.

What kind of paper should I use to print the boarding pass when conducting online check-in procedures?

A: Regular A4 sized print paper (a laser printer is recommended).

What should I do to check-in my baggage after conducting the online check-in procedures?

A: You can conduct the baggage check-in procedure at the airport counter. ① You should check-in your baggage before the check-in deadline of your flight. Please check the information released by the local airport for check-in deadlines. For more information, please check Air China's website. ② Dimensions of carry-on baggage: each person is allowed to bring only one piece of baggage (two pieces for First Class passengers). The dimensions of each piece should not exceed 20×40×55 cm and should not weigh more than 7kg. ③ If you wish to make any change to your checked baggage, please contact the duty manager counter ASAP.

What should I do to get my itinerary when conducting the online check-in procedures?

A: 1. You may ask the selling agency to provide an itinerary as the voucher for reimbursement at the time of purchase. 2. If you want an itinerary for a ticket purchased via Air China's website, you may request it at an Air China counter at the airport of origin. 3. The itinerary may be issued only once.

Why is the boarding gate field is displayed as "not assigned" on the boarding pass?

A: If you conducted the online check-in procedure very early, the boarding gate may not have been assigned at that time. When you arrive at the airport, please check your departure time and boarding gate of your flight on the flight information display screen or consult our staff.
