Weihai enjoys a northern temperate continental monsoon climate.
Spring: (March to May) The temperature is low with a slow increase. Temperatures average between 2 to 3℃ lower than normal, and each season begins about two weeks later than the inland regions at the same latitude;
Summer: (June to August) The temperature is relatively low due to proximity to the sea. Monsoons begin to manifest during the summer most often as Grade 3 or 4 south or southeast winds, which facilitates northward movement of warm, moist air resulting in high humidity and plenty of rainfall that accounts for 59% of annual precipitation.
Autumn: (September to November) The overall precipitation in the autumn accounts for 23% of annual precipitation, mostly occurring in September.
Winter: (December to February) Dry and cold weather with northerly winds.
