2.Basic Information
Construction began on Baotou Airport in 1934 and it was officially established as the China Civil Aviation Baotou Station in 1956. It is located in Donghe District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China and is just 2 kilometers from Baotou East Railway Station and 23 kilometers from Baotou City's Kundulun District by highway. Baotou Airport has a 4C flight zone. In 2017, passenger throughput exceeded 2 million for the first time. Air China currently only operates direct flights to Beijing from the airport.

Baotou Donghe Airport currently has two terminals: a domestic terminal and international terminal.

Baotou city includes Kun District, Qing Shan District and Dong He District, among which Dong He district is furthest away. Most bus routes and long-distance coach routes have terminals located in the square between the Baotou East Railway Station and Baotou Bus Station, and NanMenWai Street.
