2. Basic InformationMacau International Airport, the only airport in Macau Special Administrative Region, was officially put into operation in November 1995. It is an important bridge connecting the Pearl River Delta to the world, and is also one of the transfer stations for air passenger traffic between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. The airport operates 24/7. It is the first airport in China built completely by sea reclamation and the second in the world following Kansai Airport in Osaka, Japan.
3. Terminal InformationThe terminal of Macau International Airport covers a building area of 45,000 square meters, and consists of an arrival floor, departure floor and mezzanine, with capacity of up to 6 million passengers a year. The airport’s runways are built on a strip of reclaimed land, and are connected to the main building and air traffic control facilities on Taipa Island.

Airport bus: There are buses from different companies operating between the airport and Portas do Cerco, Praca de Ferreira do Amaral, Barra, Coloane and other places, charging a fare of 4.2 to 5 patacas. For specific hours of operation, please visit the airport website.
Taxi: Airport Taxi service is offered outside the Arrival hall, and a one-way fare from the airport to the city is about 40-55 patacas.
Shuttle Bus: The most convenient means of transport from the Macau International Airport to hotels is to take a free shuttle bus provided by the hotel. The shuttle bus waiting area is located north of the parking lot, and operating time is from 11:00 to 21:00, at 15 to 20 minute intervals.

Buses operating between the Macau Peninsula and Taipa Island are Line 11, 22, 28A, 30, 33 and 34; bus to the airport is Line AP1; and Line 21,21A, 25, 26 and 26A buses operate between Macau, Taipa and Coloane.

Macau taxis are mainly black, and the roof is creamy yellow. Basic charge is 13 patacas, and the fare is charged at 1 pataca per 2.3 km. 1 pataca is charged for every minute of idling and waiting for customers. An additional 3 patacas is charged for every large piece of luggage.
No additional cost is charged between Taipa and the Macau Peninsula. An additional 2 patacas is charged from Taipa to Coloane; and an additional 5 patacas is charged from the Macau Peninsula to Coloane Island.
3. Car Rental
Two firms are running mini-jeep tour services in Macau, and each vehicle can carry four people, with a cost starting from 450 patacas in weekdays, and from 500 patacas in weekends. Generally a billing day is from 09:00 to 18:00. Anyone aged 21 or older and holding an international driver's license can rent the jeep.
