1. Railway
The main form of public transportation in Melbourne is the city train, which travels via artery lines through populated areas. The ticket fees are determined by distance and time. One ticket can generally be applied to trains, tramcars and buses. You can purchase a ticket from an automatic ticket machine in the station. There are tickets available for two hours, one day, one week, one month and one year. As the city of Melbourne is divided into two regions, the ticket fees will increase relatively if you travel from one region to the other.
The V/Line train goes to suburban Melbourne, the State of Victoria, as well as some of the stations in the city of Melbourne. One V/Line ticket can be used as a regular one-day ticket in Melbourne .
