Lijiang
Brief Introduction:
Lijiang is a prefecture-level city in the northwest of Yunnan Province, China. The old town of Lijiang is one of the few well-preserved ethnic towns in China. A stop of the ancient Silk Road and the Tea Horse Road, the city has absorbed characteristics of both the east and west as well as preserving the historic heritage left during the Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty and the dynasties that followed. Due to its rich history, the city has been listed as a UNESCO heritage site and a “National Historic and Cultural City” by the Chinese State Council.
Reasons for Recommendation:
Many people consider Lijiang to be the most relaxed city in China. Green hills, blue waters and sky, sunshine and a harmonic mix of ethnic cultures bring tranquility to the mind. *Images provided by Chen Wanrong, Zhangjing and Hexiang
