2. Basic Information
This seafront airport in a picture-perfect setting is located in the northeastern part of the Xiamen Island and in the heart of Southern Fujian Golden Triangle. It was put into service in 1983 and now has evolved into an important regional hub of commercial aviation in southeast China. Currently, it can accommodate super-jumbos like Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental. Forty-four carriers (including 25 domestic carriers and 19 international carriers) operate 140 international and domestic routes (including 112 domestic routes, 21 international routes and 7 regional routes) to the airport, serving 90 cities around the world (including 74 Mainland China cities and 16 international and regional cities).
3. Terminal Information
The airport has 4 terminals. Air China domestic passengers check in at Terminal 4, while Air China’s international passengers, Terminal 3.
4. Location of Check-In Counters
Air China’s check-in counters for domestic flights in Terminal 4 are numbered K1-K17, including K1-K3 for First class/Business Class passengers and PhoenixMiles Platinum/Gold members. Counter L2 is for fast check-in.
Air China’s check-in counters for international flights in Terminal 3 are numbered D9-D12, including D9-D10 for First class/Business Class passengers and PhoenixMiles Platinum/Gold members.

The international VIP lounge is located at the western end of the terminal 3.
The domestic VIP lounge is located at the western end of the terminal 4.
Domestic first-class lounge and international first-class lounge
The comfortable lounges which impress their pleasant interior décor feature stand-alone guestrooms, bathrooms, meeting rooms and smoking rooms.
The 2,380-square-meter domestic First Class lounge is located close to the security check in Terminal 4.
The 2,700-square-meter international First Class lounge is located close to boarding gate 17 in Terminal 3.
7. Airport Transportation
(The airport is about 10 kilometers/6.2 miles from and is a 10-minute drive to downtown.)
Airport shuttle bus service:The airport shuttle buses serve downtown destinations like Lundu, Dongdu, North Railway Station, Wucun, Wutong, Haicangsongyu, Qianpu and Zengcuo as well as Jinjiang Fliport Shiji Hotel and Zhangzhou Yuanshan Hotel. The buses run at 20-30 minute intervals. Ticket offices are close to the exits of the arrival halls.
Bus:Terminal 3 is accessible by Bus 27/37/312/81/L19 and Airport Bus Line. The Terminal 3 bus station is a 5-minute walk from the terminal building. Terminal 4 is accessible by BRT 1/2. The Terminal 4 BRT station is a 3-minute walk from the terminal building.
Taxi:The fares of taxi start from 8 yuan for the first 3 kilometers with increments of 2 yuan per additional kilometer. There is a 2 yuan fuel surcharge for each trip. There are no toll charges.
Driving:If you drive from downtown to Terminal 4, you can turn right at Gaoqi South Eighty Road or turn right at Fangzhong Road. If you drive from Terminal 3 to Terminal 4, you can enter Xiangyun Third Road from Xiangyuan Third Road, go along Gaoqi South Fifth Road and make a U-turn at Gaoqi South Eighth Road.

1.BRT
There are three BRT lines which all departure from the First dock but arrive at different destinations. Line 1 arrives at the station of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and operates from 06:10-22:00; Line 2 arrives in Tong’an junction station and operates from 06:10-21:00; Line 3 arrives at Qianpu junction station and operates from 06:10-22:30. The BRT is cheap and a direct time-saving option;.
2.Bus and Others
There are over 200 bus lines in Xiamen, most of which are air-conditioned. Lundukou, Xiamen University and the train station are the main bus transit hub stations. Each line of the bus starts service varying from 1:00 am to 5:00 am. The buses are all self-service, and the fare ranges from RMB 1 to 9.
3.Taxi
The base fare of taxis in Xiamen is RMB 8 for the first 3 kilometers with an incremental fare of RMB 2 for each additional kilometer. From 3:00-5:00 a.m., on the top of the price, an additional 20% is charged. From December 1, 2007, taxis starts to charge an bunker fee for RMB 1.
