2.Basic Information
It’s the busiest airport in Quebec province, Canada and also the third busiest airport in Canada, serving 14.2 million passengers a year and nonstop international flights to/from Africa, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the United States and Mexico as well as domestic flights of Canada. It’s the only airport in Canada that serves nonstop flights to/from Africa and boasts the largest duty-free shopping area in North America.
There are currently three runways in operation at the airport, with two parallel runways aligned both in a North-South direction and one single runway in an East-West direction. Runway 10/28 is 2134 meters long, 06R/ 24L 2926meters long, and 06L/24R 3353 meters long. The runways can accommodate B777-300ER, B787-9 and B747-8 aircraft.
3.Terminal Information
The airport has only one two-storied terminal, with Level 1 for arrivals and Level 2, departures. On Level 1, the east side is for domestic arrivals, and the west side, international arrivals. On Level 2, the US customs and airlines are positioned on the west side. On both levels, it’s a 10-15 minute walk from the one side to the other.

6.VIP Lounge
Air China’s uses the airport’s Scotia Bank Lounge to serve its First Class/Business Class passengers. The lounge has a business center and a bar, and offers snacks and drinks. It’s in service from 5am to 11 pm. Access is free for children under 2 years of age, but such children can stay for only up to 3 hours.
7.Airport Transportation
Located 20 kilometers west of downtown, the airport is easily accessible by Bus 747 which runs around the clock. A ride from the airport to downtown takes about 25 minutes and costs 10 CAD. Buses stop at many locations in town. One Bus 747 ticket is valid on subway trains going in the same direction within 24 hours. A subway ticket separately purchased costs 3.75 CAD which is valid for rides in the same direction. Taxis also run from the airport to downtown, and a ride costs about 40-50 CAD.

1.Buses:
Montreal has a network of 186 daytime bus lines and 23 nighttime ones, offering easy access to all parts of the city. Coins, OPUS card or Day Pass can be used to pay the fare.
2.Subway:
Montreal’s well developed subway system contains 4 lines (orange, yellow, green, blue) with 65 stations. In addition, two light rail lines link to the western and northwestern outskirts. If you need to transfer from subway to bus or from bus to subway, you can collect a transfer ticket from the driver or from the ticket vending machine at a subway station. Free Montreal maps are offered at subway stations. Purchasing a Day Pass comes as highly recommended, which is cheap and qualifies you to have an unlimited number of rides in days. A Day Pass costs 5 CAD, and a 3-Day Pass, 12 CAD.
3.Taxis:
You can flag down a taxi on street. Taxi stands are located at some intersections. You can also call a taxi company from your hotel – provide your detailed address and in 10 minutes a taxi will arrive to pick you up. Taxi fares start from 3.45 CAD and go up incrementally by 1.7 CAD with each additional kilometer traveled. The waiting time costs 0.63 CAD per minute. All fares include taxes.
Montreal has a temperate continental climate. Located where different climatic zones converge, Montreal has varied pleasant weather patterns. In summer, it’s humid and a lot of rain falls. In winter, it’s cold, with temperatures averaging around -10°C, and usually you feel much colder that it actually is, so bundle up.
