1. Airport Name
Copenhagen Airport
2.Basic Information
Located on the island of Amager, just 8 kilometers south of Copenhagen city center, Copenhagen Airport is the country’s main airport is the largest in Scandinavia.
The airport has been named “The Airport Most Popular with Passengers” by IATA (International Air Transport Association) based on the results of a survey of 60,000 passengers on the world’s 57 large airports.
Inside this glass and steel structure of typical Nordic style, metal and rock sculptures and abstract patterns are sprinkled around. The airport is of a minimalist design and is conceived to let in as much natural light as possible because during the long dim winter months of the Nordic region natural light is a true treasure.
Once you step into the terminal, the first thing that comes to your mind is Marinetti’s statements about futurism. The interior of the airport is a celebration of the gloss of metal, as it’s nothing short of a post-modern art show. Maybe passenger traffic here is not as large as that of other large international airports, but there’s no shortage of modern, traveler-friendly amenities.
3.Terminal Information
Copenhagen Airport has three terminals: T1 is for domestic flights, while T2 and T3, international flights. An aerial view reveals an eye-pleasing pattern of T3’s transparent triangle blending in perfectly with its two counterparts. The airport offers state-of-the-art facilities, including Europe’s largest and trendiest shopping mall and duty-free center with over 50 shops, and a Business Center with14 conference rooms. In addition, cafés, restaurants, bars, entertainment facilities and children’s playground are also available.
Quality signage is one of the reasons Copenhagen Airport take the fancy of passengers. Electronic signs adorn check-in counters, baggage drop counters, baggage claim, security check, boarding gate area and car park, making it quite easy for passengers to find their bearings.
