Wheelchair (WCHC)
An in-flight wheelchair (WCHC) is a device that meets airworthiness requirements and is used to help passengers who are unable to walk in the cabin by themselves.
Request for WCHC service on Sao Paulo route must be made at least 72 hours before flight departure.
Request for WCHC service on routes other than Sao Paulo must be made at least 48 hours before flight departure.
WCHC service is free of charge.

Foldable or electronic wheelchair used by the passenger
Manual and electronic-powered wheelchair must be carried as checked baggage, but does not count towards free baggage allowance. If the passenger needs to use the wheelchair during check-in, the wheelchair can be checked at the boarding gate, subject to our approval.
To be checked as baggage, an electric-powered wheelchair must be packaged in a way that meets the following requirements:
- Wheelchair with leak-proof battery: The passenger must make sure that no short circuit takes place and the battery is installed on the wheelchair safely.
- Wheelchair with non-leak-proof battery: The battery should not be installed on the wheelchair and must be packaged in a protective case. The packaging material must be leak-proof, and the package must be secured on a pallet or in the cargo hold with a belt, fixture or bracket. Make sure the battery is not short-circuited, and suitable absorption materials must be used to fill all the gaps in the package.
- The packaging should be marked with "BATTERY, WET, WHEELCHAIR" or "BATTERY, WET, WITH MOBILITY AID". "CORROSIVE" and "UPWARD" labels should be affixed to the packaging.
