2. Basic Information
Taiyuan Wusu International Airport, an important domestic provincial trunk line airport located 13.2 kilometers southeast of Taiyuan City, is the alternate aerodrome for Beijing Capital International Airport and the largest aviation port in Shanxi Province covering an area of 8,831 mu. With a 4E flight zone grade level, the Airport can meet the taking off and landing requirements for B747 aircraft and the diversion demand for A380 aircraft in the F category. The runway is 3,600 meters long and 75 meters wide and the station site is 340,000 square meters with 43 placements.
3. Terminal Information
Taiyuan Wusu International Airport now has two terminals, Terminal T1 and Terminal T2. Currently Terminal T2 is the terminal in use while Terminal T1 has not opened yet. Air China operates from Terminal T2.
4. Location of Check-In Counters
Air China’s check-in counters are located at counters 21 - 30, Level 2 of Terminal T2. Counter 21 is for First Class passengers and Air China’s Platinum Card or Gold Card members while Counters 23 - 30 are for Economy Class passengers.

Domestic Departures
Passengers enter the check-in hall on the second floor of Terminal T2 → Check-in at counters 21 - 30 → Security inspection (security checkpoints are in the center of the hall and the VIP checkpoints are on the right side of check-in counter 1) → Wait at the boarding gate → Board the flight
Domestic Arrivals
Passengers disembark and enter the arrival floor of Terminal T2 →Proceed down the escalator or elevator to baggage claim hall → Claim checked baggage → Airport exit and ground transportation
6. VIP Lounge
Air China’s VIP Lounge for First Class passengers and Gold Card members is 50 meters to the left of the security checkpoints for First Class passengers and Gold Card members or 10 meters to the left of the security checkpoints for Economy Class.
The VIP Lounge has an elegant environment with free snacks, food and drinks for passengers. When flights are ready to board, staff in the VIP Lounge will inform the passengers and assist them with priority boarding.

Taxi:
Passengers can find the taxi stands by following directions on signs posted in the Airport. It costs about RMB 50 to take a taxi from the Airport to the City center.
Airport Shuttle:
There are shuttle buses at the Airport and passengers can board at the gate of the domestic arrival hall on the first floor of Terminal T2. It costs RMB 15 or so to take the shuttle from the Airport to Wuyi Square.
Bus:
Bus 201, with a fare of RMB 2 per person, boards near Exit 4 of the parking lot and its terminal stop is the train station. It departs every 40 minutes.

There are 3,011 vehicles and 150 bus lines in Taiyuan’s public transportation network in 2013. The ticket price for buses in the City is RMB 1 in generally while the price for bus tickets in the suburban counties is RMB 3.
2. Taxi
The flag-down fare for taxis in Taiyuan is RMB 8 for the first three kilometers with an incremental fare of RMB 1.1 per kilometer for each additional kilometer during the daytime, while the flag-down price at night climbs to RMB 8.6 for the first three kilometers with an incremental fare of RMB 1.3 per kilometer for each additional kilometer. The fuel surcharge for all trips is RMB 1.
3. Subway
It was proposed in 2007 to build subways in Taiyuan and the early exploratory work began in 2012, which will make Taiyuan the first city in Shanxi Province to have subways. There are seven planned subway and light rail lines with a total operating length of 157.9 kilometers and 120 stations.
Taiyuan has a temperate continental monsoon climate that is not too chilly in winter or too intensely hot in summer. Temperature variations between day and night are big. The frost-free period is long, and the annual solar radiation amount is sufficient. The best times for traveling are summer and autumn.
