2. Basic Information
Construction began on the Nanchang Changbei International Airport on October 20, 1996 and the Airport was put into operation on September 10, 1999. It is an important trunk line airport of China, and also an aviation hub for international passengers and cargo transport, so it is a busy airport in Asia.

Nanchang Changbei International Airport currently has two terminals. Terminal T1 is the international terminal and Terminal T2 is the domestic terminal. Air China operates from Terminal T2.

1. Bus
There are a total of seven bus terminals in Nanchang: Xu Fang, Changnan, Hongcheng, Qingshan, Chang’an, Anyi and Jinxian. The first two are the major urban bus terminals.
2. Taxi
Taxis in Nanchang are divided into ordinary taxis and luxury taxis. A fuel surcharge of RMB 1 applies to every trip.
For ordinary taxis: the flag-down fare is RMB 6 for the first two kilometers with an incremental charge of RMB 1.9 per kilometer for each additional kilometer up to eight kilometers. There is an incremental charge of RMB 2.85 per kilometer for distances greater than eight kilometers. Fares at night (11:00 - 05:00 the next day) start with a flag-down fare of RMB 6.6 for the first two kilometers, with an incremental charge of RMB 2.3 per kilometer for each additional kilometer up to eight kilometers. There is an incremental charge of RMB 3.45 per kilometer for distances greater than eight kilometers.
For luxury taxis: the flag-down fare is RMB 8 for the first two kilometers with an incremental charge of RMB 2.1 for each additional kilometer.

Nanchang rail transit (NCRT) is Jiangxi’s first rail transportation system and it is one of the most advanced MRT systems in Asia. NCRT will connect the main district of Nanchang and the various satellite towns. The two lines, Line 1 and Line 2, planned for NCRT will have a total length of 50.996 kilometers and are planned to be put into official operation by the end of 2014.
