The heavy traffic in Bangalore has severely affected the efficiency of work and life there. The traffic in the city is chaotic at every intersection during rush hours. Compared to taxis, local people prefer passenger-carrying motorcycles which are smaller, and more flexible in traffic. Fares are charged according to the mileage shown on the meter.
Now the state government has drafted a detailed infrastructure development outline. It plans to build two suburban railways running from East to West and from South to North, to increase viaducts and overpasses, widen some roads, and encourage new companies to build sites in the North area where the traffic conditions are better in order to reduce traffic pressure in the South.
Bangalore has a tropical monsoon climate, but high temperatures are more moderate due to the City’s high altitude on the Deccan Plateau. The City also enjoys moderate levels of precipitation because the Western Ghats block the south-western monsoons. Its climate is agreeable most of the year.
