2. Basic InformationBarajas Airport is Madrid’s principal international airport, linking Madrid with other Spanish cities as well as Europe and Latin America. It is the fourth largest airport in Europe in terms of flights and passengers handled. Barajas Airport handles passengers from all over the world via the air corridor between Madrid and Barcelona.
3. Terminal InformationBarajas Airport has four terminals. Terminal 4 is at the center and links the other three together. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected by a free shuttle bus. Air China is stationed in Terminal 1.

Prices for transportation to the downtown area:
Shuttle bus: costs about 3 Euros (from the airport to Plaza de Colón in the downtown area). The bus stop is in front of the airport entrance. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to get to Plaza de Colón.
Taxi: a taxi to downtown costs about 15 Euros (including 2.4 Euros airport transfer fee)
Metro Line 8: from Station Nuevo Minsterios to Aeropuerto. It takes about 12 minutes to get to the airport.

Madrid boasts a well-developed metro network. Sol Station is the hub of the network; from here, trains depart every 3-5 minutes during the day and every 10-15 minutes at night.
2. Bus
Madrid also has an extensive bus network that reaches virtually every corner of the city and outskirts. There are almost 150 bus lines in Madrid. The first and last stops of these buses are clearly marked. Buses are very convenient as there are exclusive lanes for them.
3. Railway
Spain has a total railway length of about 15,000 km. With Madrid at its center, Spain’s railway extends in all directions, including the Madrid-Sevilla and Madrid-Lerida AVEs. In addition, there are also “Talgo 200” high-speed trains linking Madrid with Cadiz and Huelva.
4.Taxi
Madrid taxis are painted white with a red stripe on both front doors. You can take a taxi from the street or at a taxi stand. The obligatory minimum fare is 1.35 euro; after that, the fee goes up with every kilometer traveled. In addition, Madrid also offers a different level of taxi service called “luxury tour” which are more expensive. Tourists are advised to negotiate fees before taking a taxi.
