The airport has developed rapidly and the government of Yunnan Province plan to launch a second expansion project with the aim of being able to process 4.5 million passengers by 2015.

Airport Bus: There are airport buses that shuttle between the airport and the new town via the old town. The bus terminal is outside the ticket office of Yunnan Airlines in the new town. It takes about 40 minutes and costs 15 RMB to get to the new town from the airport.
Bus:Passengers can take Bus Line 1 from the old town to the airport. It costs about 15 RMB.
Taxi:It costs about 80 RMB from the airport to the old town by taxi.

Passengers can get to most parts of the city and the outskirts by bus. The price is 1 RMB and only coinage is accepted. Buses stop operation at a relatively early time in Lijiang.

Motor vehicles are forbidden inside the old town, but taxis are easy to take in the rest of the city for 6 RMB (Xiali, includes 3 km, 1.6 per km after that) and 7 RMB (Santana, includes 3 km, 1.8 per km after that). Generally speaking, fees at night are a little higher, with the obligatory minimum fare rising to 10 RMB. Fees are negotiable for a long distance trip.
