2. Basic InformationThe New Chitose Airport, located in Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, is the main airport serving Sapporo and also the largest airport in Hokkaido. New Chitose Airport is also often referred to as Sapporo Airport. Although it is the main airport for the Sapporo metropolitan area, its actual location is southeast of Chitose and Tomakomai in Hokkaidō, Japan. This airport allows the take-off and landing of large wide-body aircraft even during snowy weather.
3. Terminal InformationNew Chitose airport consists of one Domestic Terminal and one International Terminal which opened on March 26, 2010. Level 2 and Level 3 of the International Terminal have catwalks connect to the Domestic Terminal. Air China operates in the International Terminal.

1. Subway
Subway services in Sapporo consist of a North-South Line, West-East Line, and the Toho Line. Ticket fares vary depending on the length of the trip; please check the fare table before purchasing your ticket. A single segment costs 200 yen. The ticket check is automatic. If you travel beyond the range of your ticket, you can use an automatic ticket machine at the station where you disembark to calculate and pay the excess fare.
2. Bus
The "City Bus" line connects with the subway. Passengers can enjoy fare discounts by taking the City Bus and subway at the same time. The basic fare starts at 200 yen and increases based on the distance traveled. There are "JR bus", "Central bus", "JOTETSU bus", "BANKEI bus" and other private bus lines. Bus stations include Sapporo Ekimae, Odori and Central bus station.
3. Taxi

4. City Tram
The tram makes the circuit between Nishi Chome, Nishi-Sen and Susukino, in 42 minutes and costs 170 Yen. The tram departs every 3-7 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours; and every 6-10 minutes during the rest of the day and at night. Passengers pay the fare when getting off the tram.
