Islamabad
Brief Introduction:
The beautiful and dynamic city is set against the Himalayas and faces an expansive plain. It is located in the Pothohar Plateau in the northeastern part of the country, between Rawalpindi District and the Margalla Hills National Park to the north, and is bordered by the charming Rawal Lake to the east and an open river valley to the west. It was built during the 1960s to replace Karachi as Pakistan’s capital.
Reasons for Recommendation:
Islamabad is in a region that impresses with its charming sceneries and diverse landforms. There are plenty of sites to explore, including the vast, placid expanse of Rawal Lake surrounded by flowering trees, gardens, picnic spots and secluded paths.
