Islamabad International Airport is located about 25 km southwest of Islamabad, and about 20 km from Rawalpindi.

The terminal is a single detached building divided into International Departure/Arrival and Domestic Departure/Arrival. The third floor of the terminal building is the departure hall, the second floor houses the lounge area and parking lot, and the first floor is the arrival hall.
