1. Ticket
A ticket refers to a passenger paper ticket, e-ticket, or baggage check ticket that is issued by Air China or our authorized agents. An e-ticket refers to an electronic ticket that is generated when you book on the Air China website. The e-ticket receipt lists the details of the booking including the itinerary for the flights.
2. Validity Period of Ticket
The validity period of a normal fare ticket is one year from the date of commencement of travel. If the entire ticket is unused, then it is valid for one year from the date of issuance. The validity period of special fare tickets is in accordance with our regulations governing such tickets.
3. Passenger Fare
Passenger fare refers to the air transport price between the departure airport and the destination airport. This does not include ground transportation between airports and urban areas. For some discounted tickets, restrictions are imposed, such as no refunds, no rescheduling and no extension. Please pay close attention to the fare conditions of your ticket when purchasing so you choose the most suitable fare for you.
4. Taxes & Fees
The taxes and fees levied by the government, relevant authorities or airports are not included in the fare, and are payable by the customer.
5. Children & Infant Tickets
Children between the ages of 2-12 years old are charged 50% of the normal adult fare for domestic routes. The fare for international or regional routes is 75% of applicable adult fare, unless otherwise specified. The fare for children traveling unaccompanied by an adult is provided separately. For infants under 2 years of age that do not require a separate seat, the fare is 10% of the normal adult fare. Please contact Air China for further information.
6. E-ticket (ET) Itinerary Receipt
The ET Itinerary Receipt is the proof of payment or reimbursement voucher for passengers that purchase e-tickets in China, with the function of reminding passengers of their itinerary. You may obtain an ET Itinerary Receipt from Air China or from our authorized agents when you purchase the ticket or within seven days after take-off. Your ET Itinerary Receipt cannot be re-printed and will not be reissued if lost.
7. Restrictions on Transport
Prior notice should be provided to Air China for unaccompanied children, disabled, pregnant, sick or other passengers in need of special services. Special service passengers may board the plane provided that our approval has been given and the necessary arrangements have been made. We reserve the right to refuse such passengers from boarding if prior notice has not been given or relevant proof has not been shown when purchasing the ticket.
8. Flight Schedule & Aircraft Type
Our flight schedule is published in the table called Flight Schedule. The schedule and aircraft type published are for reference only and are subject to change without prior notice.
9. Booking & Purchasing
You can book seats and purchase tickets via our website, service hotlines, at our outlets or through authorized agents. Please make the payment within the required period after booking; otherwise, your reservation will be cancelled.
Passengers will need to show their valid travel documents (including but not limited to ID cards, passports, visas, etc) when purchasing a ticket. Valid travel documents shown at purchase will need to be the same as those produced during boarding procedures.
For disabled, pregnant and sick passengers, we require proof that passengers are fit to travel. This proof would need to be issued by an accredited medical institution.
10. Ticket Change
If you require a change in flight, date or class after you book your ticket, please notify us as soon as possible and we will take the appropriate action. You will be required to pay the corresponding fee for changes in accordance with fare conditions. For discounted tickets, there may be no seats available on your desired flight or at the same price as your original booking. In this case you would be required to pay the price difference in addition to the fee for change if the class can be changed.
11. Refund
If you request a refund after booking, please contact us within the validity period of the ticket. We will handle your application in accordance with the fare conditions for your tickets.
If you cannot depart as scheduled due to a problem with our airline, then you may request a refund and we will handle it as an involuntary refund free of charge. If the refund request is made due to personal reasons, then we will handle it as a voluntary refund and the change fee is required as per airline regulations.
For passengers purchasing return or multi-leg tickets, refund applications can only be submitted for the unused portion of the ticket, in accordance with the flight schedule. No refunds will be granted for the used portion of the ticket. All legs on the ticket shall be used in accordance with the sequence; otherwise, the ticket will be invalid.
Refunds shall be processed after appropriate travel documents are shown at the original purchasing location. For tickets purchased with banks cards, refunds will be processed to the bank card only.
12. Confirmation of Reservation
For pre-booked seats on connecting or return flights, you no longer need to confirm your flights.
