In order to meet the travel needs of various passengers and to reduce wasted seats due to some passengers temporally canceling their travel plans, Air China may practice overbooking appropriately on some flights to ensure more passengers can take their ideal flights. We will reasonably control overbooking, so it seldom happens that passengers having reserved seats cannot board in the end.

In case real overbooking happens in some flights, we will first collect passengers who will voluntarily give up their seats at the airport. We will refuse some passengers to board the plane according to the principle of priority when there are not enough passengers willing to give up their seats voluntarily.

Those passengers who are not able to take their scheduled flights will be given priority to take follow-up flights so that they can travel as soon as possible, or we will provide free refund service as they require. In addition, we offer certain compensation and assistance according to the specific condition of different routes.
