The Tianjin business department of Air China’s North China marketing center announced a new Tianjin-Urumchi route that began on June 21st. The new route is in response to domestic passengers requests during the summer vocation time. The flight schedule will be every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Since the Tianjin-Urumchi route was suspended in 2000, no airline has offered a regular flight between the cities. As the relationship strengthens between Tianjin, South Korean and Japan, Air China will offer Tianjin-Kwangju (South Korea) regular chartered flights on Mondays and Fridays, and periodic chartered flights between Tianjin-Taegu (South Korea), Tianjin-Chuyun (Japan), and Tianjin-Qingshen (Japan).
Air China has also reinstated the Tianjin-Chongqing-Kunming route flying every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Also, there has been an increase in the schedule on the Tianjin-Yantai route to every Wednesday, and Saturday, and on the Tianjin-Chengdu route to every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning. . Binhai, the new developed area of Tianjin, has been designated a priority region by China's 11th Five-Year Plan. By providing air transportation to the area, it will improve economic growth and the development of Tianjin. Air China recognizes this and has expanded the flight routes to help make Tianjin a strong market.
